Majestic, definitely and so quiet. There are trails that go to 8-900m, we were around 350m, absolutely ebike territory.

We drove 20-25 mins to there from the house and the last bit to where we parked is 20% min, 30 in places and Michael and his mate will ride there from home, climb higher and ride home, 60-70kms usually.

2nd outing on the Orbea and with the Saturday group.

Majority done with no assistance, the odd bit and the last mile or so in Eco mode, Strava says harder than usual effort 😀

A short Sunday Razz, mainly Gravel and Road, I need to find my way around again.

Drive train creaking a tad so I need to look at that before doing too much on it, time for the Road bike methinks, of course I will ride past any Bars 🙄

@olduns i have a feeling i'll heading into the woods again rather than up the peaks  too... the mud and rain yesterday made the climb near impossible... no traction anywhere

1st ride out on the Carrera for 2 yrs...

I'd forgotten how twitchy 23mm  slick tyres, narrow bars and being clipped in felt 😳

I'm staying with my mother for a few days, in Shropshire and thanks to my new Superb, I've brought my bike with me.  I smashed out a 56 mile ride this morning, including a trophy (I think I only have 1 or 2 of these previously) for a second best on a segment out of 3,600 people! So quite pleased with that.

and it looks like nasty asbestos roofs on the sheds 😬

any closer pgotos of the rail stuff? i xan see rail ends so looks like some sort of very shallow depth sleeper/bearer arrangement possi ly from a bridge deck or that they had an elevated loading/unloading bay there previously. probably for gather all the chicken ****e for transportation to a fertiliser plant or for unloading chicken feed by the wagon load?

It's all narrow guage I think?

the piles in centre are sections, possibly concrete bearers?

The rail laid turns tight to the right as you look at it then finishes but no buffers.

The sheds behind have more rail and carriages, no loco that I can see but didn't go wandering about.

One of our neighbours thinks it's a hobby railway, recalls a w/e show a few years ago.

I'll take a look at the French version of OS maps for signs of a railway

Google Maps shows the rails and sheds better, a lot more 'stuff' there than i thought.

terrain is hilly around there so i don't think the line ever went anywhere other than the yard

going the way ive taken the pic....bottom of pic is a small rise, threw me off line and towards the bush.

cameras tend to flatten out the terrain

its actually a very steep  slope to the left, about 20ft to the bottom, covered in bracken so a soft drop!

Group ride day and a lights ride return home with helmet mounted lamp as well, so much better 👍🌚
