I’m waiting for my Superb estate SEL.

 

A question for those who know the car. As it’s already built and is vanilla stock, safe for space saver spare wheel, I can’t add anything to the car.

the SEL cones with adaptive Cruise control, but traffic sign recognition us an extra. It also says only available with Lane Assist, Aldo an add on.

 

Are either of these a software system? Can either be implemented with a VCDS reader?

No, you need the camera in the windscreen too enable those options.

The stock SEL doesn't have that as standard 

I'm not 100% sure, but thought new SEL's had the camera, if so I think you can code the Lane Assist, but not the TSR on the face lift.  More info here and here

My 2020 SEL has the A5 Camera as standard and I have Lane Assist coded and working, can't get the traffic sign recognition sorted though. I am certain that on the MY20 Facelift models the A5 Camera is a standard feature.

Specs seem to chop and change regularly.  I thought mine came with TSR - apparently not!

MY21 can't be coded anyway because the gateway is locked now isn't it?

 

Even then on the MY20 TSR can't be coded, can only be enabled via swap code

Not sure the MY21 Superb will come with SFD, seems it’s only affecting MQB Evo cars but it may well affect the Superb too. The 2Q0 A5 camera needs ODIS to enable the FeC for TSR so it’s not a VCDS job but lane assist is for MY20 and would be for 21 if SFD isn’t implemented. SFD will be bypassed at some point in any case I’m sure.
