Has anyone managed to search and successfully complete a software update as yet?

 

I’ve attempted a few times but the infotainment screen hangs on ‘searching for updates’

 

I know the infotainment has its gremlins so I’d like to be running the latest available firmware

would mean no new updates if its just searching 

I regularly get notification of an update. Latest one was about a week ago? 

That's novel - I'm afraid that mine hangs as described by Matmaka!!

My one week old SE Tech model does the same. It just stays on Searching for Updates with all other options greyed out in the background even if left for say 20 minutes. The only way to get out of it is to stop the ignition and open the door!  Maybe removing a fuse or two will reset things?!

Currently the Software version is 1666

Display unit/Control Panel Software is on 2088 

 

Anyone have anything more up to date?

I'll check mine shortly and get back to you.  I really think we need to be getting all the incremental updates to start getting rid of bugs 

It sticks on a loop if no updates, they will only push updates when they have them, and you only have to turn infotainment off and it comes off the searching for update screen

 

Mine's been stuck on this for a while. I've had a couple of updates but they seem to be mainly manual updates and "bug fixes"

Yes succesfully did a software update a few days ago and it came up with a message around adaptive lights activated..

As far as I am aware the system will tell you when a software update is available much like your mobile phone

Does this mean they’ve fixed the matrix lights?

Yes correct...took mine out last night and got to say the matrix led headlights were pretty amazing!

What was the problem with the matrix leds? Can't say I've noticed anything wrong with them

The problem is the auto high beam setting. They don't 'dip' as they should. i.e the relevant matrix LEDs don't turn off/dip correctly so you still dazzle on coming traffic. You have to manually dip the lights. The auto not working as it should.

Seems I'm on software 1666 and others 1688. Will see if I can find anything else out

It looks to me like the blanking is misaligned. If I’m following a car, I’ll dazzle them but oncoming traffic is fine. If there’s only oncoming traffic, they’re dazzled but I can see a blanking come off to the right. 
 

the garage thinks that the lights and the sat nav unita are locked to being on a left hand drive car. Given that the lights were a £1600 odd option, I’m feeling a bit cheated at the mo. Any chance of a refund?

@fox2319 have you tried adjusting the lights to lefthand or/and righthand traffic?

They're currently set "correctly" for the UK. My worry is that, if I switch it over, I'll just end up dazzling everyone all the time on the dipped beam. Another problem is that I don't go out at night much these days for some reason

Searching for updates will not return any results. When OTA update is available, system will let you know. But OTA updates are only small updates usually for navigation, T&C or similar. For "big" updates for different computer modules, you will need to go to your dealer. You can also tell them your VIN and they can check if any updates are available for your car.

My 21 plate vrs has just updated itself to 1803. Had major issues from delivery 3 weeks ago. Loads of gremlins in the system. Had it booked in but over a few days it has sorted it's self out. Everything is fine apart from the sync control in the clima settings. It will not remember it when i set it on sync and leave the car. My dealer service says it should remember this. But i will live with it for now, till its first service i think. Eveything else is good when you work out the short cuts and set the screen up to your liking. Just takes a bit of getting used to.

Hmm - well mine (also a 21 plate vrs) has just been to the dealer today, supposedly for a software update - I specifically asked them to update every component that could be updated.  I'm attaching my before and after System information summaries.  Spot the difference if you can!

 

I'm rather surprised yours has done an OTA update to 1803 - your hardware appears to be identical to mine and I've applied all the updates I've been offered, but I'm still on 1788.

 

The only other thing I asked them to do was to enable remote lock/unlock from the Skoda Connect app, but it turns out that no-one in the dealership knows how to do this.  One of their salesmen knew, but he left!   

 

They were genuinely very helpful and keen to address all my problems, but clearly are - like most dealers, I suspect - clueless.

Done over the air rather than a dealership visit , must be VAG's attempt at a mass vac for their cars , knowing the cost of a full recall.  Im on 1803 and as said clima is ropey but all else works now,

Yes - I don't understand why mine isn't getting that update as an OTA.  

So to put this into prospective. Three days into owning the car systems started to work sporadically. Clima issues, not storing info or saving settings. Clima sync not remembering. Radio settings all over the place. One day later pulled up screen said do not switch off updating system. 

Took about 2 mins to complete. After that nothing very different. So was confused some what. Booked it into the dealership for this coming monday. While on the phone to service asked about the lock unlock on the app. All i had to do was give my drivers license number and he did it there and then on service pc. 5 mins later worked fine app superb. 

So still had screen issues as before. But read that holding down the screen on off button for 10 seconds does a hard reset. So did this... Nothing different happened. But the day after all started to work bit by bit. So all working fine except the clima sync which forgets the setting. Spoke to dealer again today to who says it should remember the function. But i cancelled the booking for just that one thing only and will see how it goes. Even the two keys now know who is using them. So im not letting then do any more for now. When i asked what the software number should be they said they were not sure and log on to the portal and put your vin number in and it will tell you... which it doesn't do. So thats my story so far.. More to come i expect... But hope not.
