Fabia 100tdi pd

Whilst moving, Seriously loud scraping noise rotational like an un oiled axle on a goods train

I dabbed the brakes no difference, lightly applied hand brake no difference

pulled up and stopped to check, sound stopped, engine running ok belts and pulleys ok, So must be wheels/brakes checked around car and pulled wheels etc could not see anything,

decided to drive a little further,pulled away noise had gone and not come back

300 careful miles since

Any ideas Handbrake shoes? or something?

Just looking for any pointers or if it has been known before!

I have had "Kerbside Motors" take a look and cant see anything

Probably a small stone stuck behind the brake disk shield mate. I expect it's fallen out as you'vedriven around.

Def sounds like a stone...............horrible noise though isn't it

Probably a stone. had something similar when one of the brake calipers was not quite fully releasing, just needed some copper grease on the carrier where the caliper moves on it.

I concur with all of the above. Just a stone stuck in the guard that has since dropped out.
