Hi, does anyone know if the MK iv bonnet badge is the same size as the MK iii. Looking for one in Steel Grey, but Superskoda don’t show it for the MK iv. 

OK. So mk3 emblem is the same as the mk4.  Removed and fitted using hair dryer,dental floss and old credit card. 

Is this badge transparent or the color matches your car?

Same colour as car. 

@Ozzy25 I was told that the shape is not the same? That the one for mk3 is a bit more curved so the back side doesn't lay fully on the bonnet. Is that not the case? 

When I took the original one off it wasn’t stuck in the middle either.

Octavia 111 under emblems. 

😢 just washed my car for the first time and the bonnet badge is moving slightly. Found my old Mk3 badge and compared it to the mk4 one I took off. As TheUltraRunner mentioned in an earlier post, yes the mk3 badge is slightly more curved. Removed all the sticky stuff off both badges and mk3 part number is 3V0 853 621A. Mk4 is 3V0 853 621.

Hmm...same happened to me. My emblem is moving slightly too. But I ordered the one listed under mk4 Octavia on superskoda. I will remove it completely in the following days and I'll compare ii against original one.

I was told by them that the 3 prongs on the back were in a different place, been waiting months to order one, was this just as easy as replacing the mk3 ones? You didn’t have to shave any bits off? 

As far as I can see the 3 prongs are in the same place. The new model badge is a bit flatter than the mk3 one, less of a curve. Easy to replace and no shaving off anything. But it’s about 1mm different so rocks about slightly when stuck back on the bonnet. I have got replacement M3 double sided sticky pads to try and play around with the gap but haven’t bothered yet. 

Is there a race blue emblem available for mk4?

Is the front emblem 90mm as that seems to be the most common size available on eBay?

 

The size isn't mentioned on kopacek website but they say they use a genuine OEM part painted correctly.

 

Also has anyone changed the chrome VRS logo on the grille into a black one? Kopacek has them as well although they onyl seem to have 'glowing' red and have to be fitted from the back of the grille.

It's 90 mm, correct.

Kopacek doesn't have the original front emblem for the mk4. You can either buy  the one that needs to be fitted on the grill with screws or the slightly bigger one which I think comes from the Kodiaq RS.

If you want the original front mk4 VRS logo (or bonnet Skoda logo) in various colors, I would suggest checking  Benny's EmblemDesign Facebook page. They are expensive, but he uses original ones and repaints them. As reported by many users, the quality is top notch.

Below you can see how the front VRS logo is pust together from two pieces. The back plate and the letters.

Not sure about the size. But I'm sure they are different because of those pins that the front one has and the rear doesn't.

Yes,the VRS logo on the front is smaller..

I order new painted,Bennys emblem,not cheap,but can't be found anywhere else

Hi Ozzy, sorry to resurrect an old post but, are you saying here that the Mk3 centre badge will fit the Mk4 bonnet better than the Mk4 one offered by Kopacek?

What are you guys using to remove all the gunk left behind by the old badge? And how are you sticking the new badge to the car?

 

I’m interested in changing mine but worried it’ll fall off at a car wash or something.

Any decent tar remover for the stickers - Tardis, ObliTARate, something like that. Nice and gentle. It'll clear up a treat.

I think the emblems come with 3M backing - that'll be plenty, long as you don't jetwash it point blank (and even then... It's pretty strong!)

I made it.. we had to unmount the logo and the painted in high gloss black and grey..

Hello. I have 110 cm emblem classic chrome - black design. I like to replace it with glossy black. Paint of my skoda is royal green. I cant find emblem with this colour. So front part of new from ebay can be separated logo from surface?
