Media player album cover art

Featured Replies

I've put a load of mp3s on a micro sd + USB C adaptor and plugged this into the USB slot. All works OK other than some albums don't show cover art, I checked each of these and embedded the album art into the mp3 files but just wondering whether it's better to use a 'cover.jpg' or 'folder.jpg' in each folder?

Are these recognised and is there a file size limit or anything else I should check?

The album art needs to be a max of 500x500. There are some programs that will automatically do the leg work to sort that out.

OK thanks, so if the art is embedded and under that resolution it should be OK? Does it work with a folder.jpg as well do you know?

I use mp3tag, seems a pretty good tool for this type of thing.

Yes in answer to the first part and I normally remove the folder.jpg files to reduce clutter. Whether they'd override is a different question to which I don't know.

Does mp3tag actually adjust art sizing instead of just being excellent at sorting & naming?

Mp3tag is very good if you use it with the various online tag sources but no, it doesn't adjust the artwork as far as I know. You just select the album, pick a jpg and it embeds into the file so you'd need to limit the jpg beforehand.

I play songs with embedded 300x300 artwork off my phone via Bluetooth to the Amundsen stereo but none of my artwork ever shows. Also, more annoyingly, some songs have artwork that I haven't applied so where is it getting this from? My Karoq isn't on the internet. Very weird!!  If anyone knows how to display the embedded artwork when playing via Bluetooth I'd appreciate it.
