Delivery times?

Featured Replies

I think it was mentioned earlier but I couldn't find. When is the factory having summer holidays and is it fully closed? Meaning that there is some month that nothing happens.

My dealer doesn't dare to estimate anything.

  • Well 13.5 months waiting and I finally collected my Octy Estate vRS yesterday. I couldn't be happier  👍😀

  • After 13 months waiting my SEL iV Plug in Hybrid arrived.    All seems good with it so far, just to understand some of the infotainment features!

  • Just took delivery of mine but had to cancel some of the optional extras

We’ve all seen what the dealers’ estimations are like 😁

Today I got an update from my UK dealer. My car ordered feb 22 had a delivery estimate of 24 weeks. I am told cars ordered today have a delivery estimate of 48 weeks. Dealer did offer to refund my deposit. I assume my delivery will be closer to 48 weeks than 24.

Cars ordered more than 1 year ago, are still waiting with no info. I don't see how new orders can have 1 year waiting time. Orders are just piling up. :)

After a long time, is in Slovenia are 3 Octavia immediately available.

something is happening i hope 😕

They are working and need to get rid of MY22 vehicles already built and that were unfinished before they start turning out MY23 cars and selling them.

Even if production and finishing is reduced by 2 3rds that still means there are cars leaving the facilities.

Even if they are half produced in 2022, they are going to be MY22. If they are parked, they already have a MY22 VIN.

My car was started in build week 6 Feb. It’s at stage 7 of 8 but has no VIN. Dealer told me it won’t get a VIN until completed. I’m guessing that it’s in a car park somewhere until they can finish it

i fear you may have to wait a lot longer for your car but you never know you may get lucky.fingers crossed for you.

@timster Indeed as you say.

& they need to get those cars built many months ago shifted & first registered.

Sitting there with some diesel / AdBlue or petrol in them. Brake Fluid and oil and the cars getting older by the day and bringing no money back into the VW Group.

Prices should certainly not go up because of the market and inflation the price should drop.

Well there's many things involved. Covid messed up the production vs need. That caused chip shortages and now the war is making more noise since it affects production.

Production plants needs replacement and that causes prices to go up. I believe the prices go up from the smallest parts upward. Prices go up on chips and other parts. That causes the car as a whole to go up in pricing.

Now that the need for parts is still high and many places suffered from downtime, they need to make more money to avoid bancrypt etc. Thats my thoughts. Not sure how accurate stuff is.

A Major issue is that they need to meet the required Average Co2 emissions in the EU and in the UK so as not to face huge penalties and they need to produce enough low emission ones because even using the kidology of pooling with EV producers is going a bit t!ts up as even their production is affected.

If the wrong vehicles are released and registered then they do have financial issues of millions in fines.

Well, they aren't much releasing anything :) But thats also true. Hence especially end of the year, they release more EV's and plugins to avoid fines.

Cars are getting to dealerships and to new owners as and when available, and that is just how it is.

Skoda is very much bottom priority for the VW Group as their lowest volume sales globally.

Not sure what your source is. Two hits on google tell me that Skoda is above Seat.

Sorry about that. The difference between Ooo & Ahhh.  a Ba's hair.

So the Russian sales will be a thing of the past.

Selling more than SEAT need not mean they are the favourite child.    Look how Skoda buyers get less of a choice of vehicles, power, drivetrains.

?

Are they counting CUPRA as SEAT or have they forgotten that CUPRA is supposedly not SEAT.

EDIT.

Yes they did include Cupra in the SEAT registrations in 2021.

Seat increasing sales but reduced profitability.

*** Note the difference you get with Skoda, Sold or Delivered.

VW, AUDI, SEAT and Skoda do lots of selling to themselves with new cars, then they are leased by VW, Owned by VW Finance or pre reg and sold as Used Cars.

That is is usual times.

Today I kindly asked my dealer to send me VIN number - to check in MyŠKODA app. Doesn’t work, so clearly not finished yet. But did catch info of delayed delivery to week 24/22, this is next week. We’ll see what happens.

Petrol vrs (manual) ordered in early October 21. Original estimate was May 22 but the dealer called last week to say that it's now confirmed as a MY23 car - no more info than that 🙄

Exact same situation as me. original date was 4th may delivery..... factory havnt even confirmed a build date as yet. shambles

I’m not sure what I’d prefer, waiting a bit longer and getting a MY23 car or knowing that my car is parked somewhere for 2 months, waiting for who knows what… of course no one can guarantee that your MY23 will leave the factory immediately after being built…

i think we are all in limbo and it is all down to the lies skoda put out.instead of coming out with one word the TRUTH .

Added story of my order to spreadsheet.

Octavia Combi vRS 2.0tdi with tow bar

order date 20/8/2021

first delivery guestimate 1/1/2022

At the moment dealers system says 6/2023 for production. Also there is this weird ”production extension/expansion?” field with 2022W25 / 2023W23 / D.

So one more year waiting?

Numbers in the spreadsheet are increasing. Once again thanks to its creator.  Also thank you to all those willing to share their dates and details it gives a reliable accurate source of what is really happening. I look forward to the time when we see people getting their long awaited cars.

If you have a new Octavia Mk4 on order please consider sharing and then updating your situation to improve the collective picture we have.
