DQ250 problems, Octavia 2.0D -07

Featured Replies

Hello everyone!

I'm having an annoying issue with my Skoda since atleast 3-4 weeks. The problems are as follows:

It changes gear perfectly (mostly) from 1 -> 2. But then more often than not the problem begins after second gear, it needs high revs before it changes to third. Same thing with 4th gear. Most often its fine from 1-4, but then for 5th and 6th it needs very high revs in order to change. When I put it in manual it works perfect.

What could this be? Oil has been changed every 60 000km.

How long since the last oil change? And did you do it yourself or a garage?

I did it myself. Think its 25 000km ago. I didnt use VAG oil, but one that met specifications. Its done fine until now!

And what method was used to set the oil level? How much did you put in etc?

Good question, let me see if I can find a post I did about it. I put the car in level and filled a specific amount. Didnt check the level plug afterwards.

Ok. It's possible that the gearbox is underfilled as I've heard of similar problems that turned out to be too little oil.

Okay, sometimes it changes gear just fine.

Heh you beat me to it. I just found it too.

There is a thread on here somewhere regarding a delay change and it related to the abs sensor on one of the wheels being faulty!  They found it by monitoring wheel speed in vcds.
