BT module upgrade

Featured Replies

Hi!

I have a 2010 O2FL with bolero head unit. I'm planning to change the BT module to 7P6 035 730 F so I can have AVRCP functions and I have some quesitons about this one.

Will it work at all?

Can I change the name of the BT module? (I'm planning to buy it used)

Does it need coding?

Will it have component protection?

does it have MFSW support?

Thanks!

I would expect so, you may have phonebook issues depending on your Bolero version.

Check the adaption channels, is the name important?

Depends completely on the donor vehicle, I would suggest you at least check the coding.

No.

I think all BT modules have 'MFSW support', in as much as the volume will change and the phone button works?

under MFSW support I mean, that I can change the tracks from it.

And one more thing came in my mind. I mostly use spotify, will AVRCP work with spotify streaming also? Will it display the track name, artist etc?

Track info and skipping is also down to the headunit.

For instance, when I had an Amundsen (RNS-310) and a 3C8035730D BT module, skip worked but there was no track info. When I switched to a Columbus (RNS-510) track info was also shown :)

At a guess, you might get skip but not track info. Might be worth trying to find someone with the same headunit/BT module to share their experience. I've never owned a Bolero or 7L6 BT module so I can't be sure...
