Rear passenger door on Mklll L&K

Featured Replies

Rear passenger door opening is intermittent both from inside and outside the car. Any similar issue experienced by anyone?

This sounds a lot like a doorlock issue we had on my girlfriends audi a3. All 4 went bust over a 2 year period. The solutions the dealer uses is to replace the lock. I repaired them.  There were 2 electric motors inside. The problem was poor contact on the electrical connections on the motors. You could see black residue from arcing.

there are several YouTube videos available if you want to try to repair them. Just find the one matching your lock. Take your time and always test the lock while you have the door open.

Funny you should say that..... The other day when my son tried to get out of the back door it wouldn't open and we had to open it from the outside.  I just thought the child lock must be on for some reason but this morning I have moved the child lock switch and it still won't open from inside.  Stranger still is that it's the same at both sides.  Both rear doors open fine from outside though.
