Infotainment not saving settings

Hi,

I have the same Sat Nav issues and was told today, on the car's first oil service, that no fix is currently available for this problem. However, a Skoda update is imminent and I'll contacted as and when.

I would love to know what Skoda think 'imminent' means, probably months if not years! After all they have known about the huge number of software issues they have for 18 months now!

I e-mailed Skoda and they won't even acknowledge that there is an issue. I sent them a link to this forum and they replied "we do not comment on forums".

They keep passing me back to the service centre, which seems a little unfair given that the software is the responsibility of Skoda, not the service centre.

For what it's worth - I have tried adding destinations on the web Dashboard (skoda connect), the App (Android) and the car. Nothing seems to work - the App lets you save charging sites and the web version lets you save some addresses (but they do not actually save - it says they are saved and then they vanish). It suggests there is a fundamental issue with data being saved but impossible to tell whether data is meant to be saving in the cloud or always in the car itself.

Same issue with octavia 2021, I'm seriously considering changing the car

To anyone following this thread - I complained to Skoda UK and after a few e-mails (and an escalation) my car was booked in for a software update - that was yesterday and it has been fixed!

I have used it a few times since picking it up and each time it has remembered addresses and settings.

Tested and working:

  • Addresses/favourites saved.
  • Last Journey details saved.
  • Addresses sync from online (although there is a bug in their online system so I wouldn't spend much time on that!)
  • Settings (such as traffic signs) saved.
  • (Note: I do not know about the ACC lane/undertaking issue as I'm not even sure if I had that problem anyway).

(I should add that they failed to address the two recall/notices outstanding on the car but this seems to be a general issue with parts and training - that should happen in a few weeks).

Wow finally, this is the only issue on my car now. I have a 1.5e-tec SE L delivered in July 2021.

Can you send an image of the SW version on the unit? It might not be the only update but gives us some hints.

Sounds, good. I complained a month back to VWFS as i have my Octavia on PCH and they agreed to the fault and offered me a refund of 10% of my total monthly payments (on the date it is repaired) since I received the car.

My car's 10 months old now so will be a decent refund at least for the troubles, though it should be a trouble free car in the first place.

Will try to contact the nearest dealer and see what they can do for the update as you had,  also the car has been "offline" for about a month too 🤣.

So i had my car updated to 1896 on Monday just gone and the car works a treat now :)

As mentioned previously i got some money back from VWFS which came to £381.60 and also £250 extra as compensation :)

Just shows if there's a problem and you are not happy, make sure you log it at the dealer and log a complaint to Skoda UK or in my case VWFS as i have it on PCH.

Payment for being a Beta Tester of the software/car issues.

Seems fair!

Yes, I also got £250 from Skoda UK, they offered £200 but wouldn't go higher than £250.
