Heated Front Windscreen Button

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

long story short, I ordered the winter pack but Skoda didn’t fit the heated screen! I have a ‘button’ to turn it on on the infotainment screen, and the option to set it to automatically turn on despite it not being fitted. Skoda are going to retro fit the screen.

My question is; should I have a physical heated screen button? I have a button to quick clear the screen by turning the air con to max on the screen, should this be replaced with a physical heated front screen button?
thanks

According to the manual there is no physical button for the heated windscreen.

That’s great thank you, I missed that. Unusual that there’s no physical button like the mk3 or the Superb but migrating everything to the touchscreen seems to be the way forward from VAG

thanks 👍

I picked up my 1.5 SE L e-tec estate on Saturday which has the Winter pack. I too have just about figured out how to turn on the screen but from other posts on the forum I'm struggling to tell if there are any thin lines or bronze tint to the windscreen. Guess I need a frosty morning! Of course it could be me being an idiot as I've changed from a Mk2 2012 plate 1.6 diesel and the technology has moved on so much I feel a bit bamboozled.

Cheers!

You have a screen grab from the manuals above.

Yep, Saw that thank you. Need to test it on a cold morning to see how it gets on. It is such a step up from my last Octavia I feel like I am on a steep learning curve!

Cheers.

With my Octavia I had already found that the boot release, auto dimming rear view mirror and rear LED lights were missing; Skoda complaints had asked me to book it in to check these were actually missing and not deactivated - As I couldn’t see any wires or tint, and it didn’t seem to be working, I asked the local Skoda dealer to check that too and was pretty dismayed to find that was missing too.

FYI when I ‘turn on’ the heated front screen, despite it being missing I get no errors or warnings

Yw. :) I know the feeling. I went from 2007 car with no board computer to a new Octi.

Only button is the infotainment screen
