Will polo mk5 front shock absorbers fit the mk2 fabia?

Featured Replies

Hey I own a mk2 fabia 1.6mpi that is due for a suspension rebuild, most parts for the fabia mk2 were not manufactured in India, but VW/Skoda models such as the polo, vento and rapid are now being manufactured here locally, so the spares tend to be much cheaper. In this case they cost about half of what the fabias shock absorbers cost. From my understanding the fabia has an older platform that uses parts starting with 6q whereas the later models have part numbers starting with 6r. Does anyone know if i can fit the polo mk5 front shock absorber (6RF413031G) instead of the fabia's (6Q0413031BK).

What "year" is your Fabia ?

The MK4 Polo is "identical" underneath, it uses the same platform.

SKoda rapid in India is the same.

If the base number is the same (which it is) its just the vehicle identifier which is different, I would suggest yes they would fit.

It is from 2011 the facelift mk2 Fabia.

That's great if it happens to be identical underneath as there are a few shared parts like the control arms and top mount.
