Argggggh- Damaged my Furby!

Featured Replies

Picked up my 05 Furby last weekend and have already damaged it by reversing into a low post! Bit of a bang (luckily I wasn't going much more than 5 mph) and the rear bumper is now damaged. I'm on a business trip 150 miles from home to make matters worse!

I hoping that it's only the bumper that needs replacing, I've checked in the boot and around the spare wheel and can't see any rippled/bent metal work! I'm off to the body shop first thing Saturday for an estimate, anyone have any ideas on the cost of a replacement bumper to prepare me for the shock! I'm paying for the repair myself as my NCB isn't protected (doh!) and my excess is rather large!

Can't believe it in 7 years driving it's my first accident!! What a wally! :(

Ps. No jokes about the need for parking sensors please!

At that speed, you are right. Most likely only the bumper is damaged.

Probably £300 for a new spoiler and spraying? As a guess that is. Not much labour involved really - around 1.5 hours perhaps? maybe 2. Bet Ross could change one in 45 minutes or less. :D

As you edited, so will I :D Thought about getting parking sensors? :P :P :D

Oddly enough I've finally got round to writng my Parking Sensor fitting guide. :P

Might be finished later :P

Depending on how/where the dent is, you may be able to fix it yourself if you take the bumper off. This thread has some pics that might help.

I may get them fitted to my new 06 model as they may be a life saver (or pocket saver) shame I didn't get them from Factory. will skoda do this at a dealer? or do they have to be bodged?

Dealer or DIY fit.

Be patient and the guide will be up soon. ;)

Off to the body shop this morning to get the bad news, I'll post up the costing should anyone else be as unfortunate as me!

I'll try and get a picture up too!

Well bodyshop won't give me a price till monday, but said the bumper & rear splitter need replacing.

Skoda quoted the following:

Rear Bumper - £95.87 + VAT

Rear Splitter- £141.71 + VAT

Rear Bar (behind bumper if needed)- £42.62 + VAT

Bumper & Splitter will require spraying, so I may save some labour costs by doing the removal and fitting myself. Still looks like £500 is a more likely estimate from the body shop now!
