Is there a boot liner for when the 7 seats are up?

Featured Replies

I currently have a plastic boot liner in my superb and would like something similar for my Kodiaq when it arrives.  I would say that most of the time we will have the 7 seats in use, so I'm after a liner for the small boot.. if that makes sense.. All I can find online is for when the seats are folded..

Anyone know of such a thing?

Thanks

Or buy a cheapie from e bay and cut it to fit.

Thanks, I have one in my Superb, so Had thought about butchering that.. although with the raised edge It's quite well sealed to keep water, spills etc in one place..

or you could just reverse the raised floor cover to its rubber side

Thanks, Is that photo the standard boot reversed? That would maybe do...

I did wonder if losing the lip might bother you. If your current one is like mine i.e. quite pliable, I'd cut it oversized enough so that you could make your own lip along the edge you cut. If necessary, use some duct tape or similar to help it keep shape. I doubt aesthetics matter too much in the boot.

Yes, that’s the standard floor cover reversed. I said rubber in my post but it’s more just hard plastic but has raised edges and great for putting wet boots etc on instead of on the carpet side.

I will try the reversal first, although my superb is leased, so I'll be keeping the current liner, so may have a go butchering that..

PS.. I only sat in a Kodiaq last week and have never driven one!!! all the dealers were closed due to Covid when I ordered.. although looking forward to it. so haven't had a good poke around one yet..

Having had a Superb estate, albeit a diesel version, I think the only thing you'll miss in the Kodiaq is the power of your current engine. I wish Skoda would fit that engine in the Kodiaq.

Also, if you currently have electric seats, you'll miss those too.

Yeah I would say I'll miss the power a bit and all the sporty bits, but will still be getting a great car and maybe it will be not a harsh with non sports suspension and thinner sidewalls..

Facelift Kodiaq RS has the 245PS engine lifted from the new ‘base’ GTI/Octavia RS, just like your Superb had the engine from the ‘base’ Mk7 GTI/Octavia RS. And the ride is far from harsh.

Yeah, I have the 220bhp version and installed a racechip tuning box for a bit.. it was putting out 290bhp & 350 lb/ft on RR session.

I just keep a large piece of cardboard box lying underneath the regular 5 seat pukka plastic boot tray.

On the odd occasion I want row 3 up, I have a ready made 7 seater boot tray that covers the small floor and stands upwards behind the row 3 seat backs.

And an old blanket for protecting the row 2 seat back when they’re folded flat for full skip truck / removal duty.

I’d happily butcher an old boot tray if I had one.

I feel it’s worth protecting the boot trim as (a) it looks better and  (b) it always pays off at hand back / trade in / selling time.

I know people with “prestige badge” cars and the interiors resemble a dust bin. They blame the kids.

Have a look at this thread…

Top of page 6 there is a 3 section hard rubber/carpet reversable mat. The one with a split down the middle of 2 sections.

You can fold 2 sections over so it fits with the 3rd row up.

I actually cut the whole width section off so I could use it for the lowered boot floor and the other 2 bits taped together for the seat backs when folded so I can get my wheelchair in.

Thanks, That looks great.. a bit steep though.. will see what way the seats stay initially..

I've had the Kodiaq a few weeks now, just to note that the boot no longer comes like that.. it's just the back of the carpet on the underside.. maybe another one of the "simply clever" cost cutting ideas in 21 models..
