2 users and 2 keys set up

Featured Replies

Hello. I have just bought a new Octavia VRS Hybrid fantastic bit of kit. We have set up the Skoda connect app on our phones, my partners the primary user, the app won’t let me connect to the car as I’m not the primary user.

My questions are, how do I set the car up so when I get in with my key it recognises it and sets the car up to me, and when she gets it it sets the car up to her settings?

Also how can I use the app as well?

It states I need to be a primary user, I won’t be the main driver but would like access to the app, can there be 2 primary users? Any tec advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Re the app, why not just login in as her as I believe there can only be one account?

You can have many accounts but only one can be the principal user, so able to view the car data etc on your phone or PC.

Anyway, for pairing, something like this worked for me.

  • With car 'on' select user 1 in the infotainment. Let it load up.
  • Switch off, get out, lock car with key 1. Key 1 should now be assigned to user 1.
  • Wait until it's fully shut down. put key 1 in the house so car doesn't get confused!
  • With key 2, get back in and switch on. Change to user 2. Switch off, get out, lock car with key 2.

Apparently the key (ha!) is that the logged in user when the car is locked with a particular key will be the user when unlocked with the same key.

Hope that makes sense, good luck.

Thanks for this. I’ll give it a go. 👍

Yep. I’ve just used her log in details and it is now on my phone w

as well. Cheers. 👍

Yes, what @just music said - and note that for the settings/user to be saved to the key it has to be the same key that unlocked it.

I think this may be linked to my problem but the solution sort of defeats data protection rules going in a someone else! However, I cannot find User 2 on latest Kodiaq Sportline (2021).

Has anyone had a problem with keys connecting to users. I have option checked so the car assigns keys automaticaly. Car always uses last profile it was in and wont assign them to keys.

This option would be nice because of memory seats and mirrors.

Hi Tadejm, I have the exact same problem with the alternate key not being recognised. The garage says it works but it doesn’t for me. Did you get a resolution?
