how to disable vrs alarm?

Featured Replies

how can i lock my car without setting the alarm?

as my girlfriend found to her suprise, if she locks the car with the dog in it to opo int a shop it sets off the alarm. the dog was suprised too.

is there a way of locking the car and immobiliser but not setting the alarm?

cheers

Dont think so, but there maybe a way of locking the car but having the interior sensors disabled.

Try locking it twice, I was told by the dealer this is how you set the alarm  but it seems it's how you lock the car and not have the alarm set. See if the little red flashing light by the inside door locks flash or not

I'm probably going to have loads of people telling me that it's wrong now

If you press the "Lock " button on the key Fob Twice I understand it disables the Inside Motion sensor...:) or lock with the Key...No alarm....[i Think ]

If you lock the car with the key it still sets the alarm.

Anymore info on this? Mine has come up on a diagnostic scan as interior alarm sporadic open circuit. Not interested in forking out money just on fixing this. Is there a way of disabling interior sensors permanently, or do you have to double lock with the key every single time to disable? Someone entioned ona another thread a button on b-pillar, but they were Octavia owners.

Mines on the B-pillar too. Is the button not down by the bonnet realese pull thing on Fabias? Think I read that somewhere.

Nope no b-pillar or boot release buttons.

I've tried the double locking on the key fob but I'm confused. I can hear the deadlocks disengage, yet the LED light stays flashing, indicating the alarm is active?

All I want to do is lock the car WITH the deadlocks engaged too, but no active interior sensor so it can't trigger the alarm!! Is it possible to do?!

There is no button to disable the interior movement sensors on the Fabia 1. As mentioned earlier, pressing the lock button on the remote twice in quick succesion will disable them and also disables the deadlocks. It's all in the manual

I thought so, been over the manual several times but no mention of disabling interior sensor. Tempted to just remove alarm horn fuse, and keep it deadlocked but no random alarm triggers. If the alarm is triggered someones already in the process of breaking in anyway. Just come to mind, how would this stand with an insurance company?! You can't win can you

The car will be insured as having a CAT 1 alarm system. Disable it without intension to repair, you would have to tell insurance.

I'm sure you're right. What about knowingly deactivating the deadlocks and interior sensor legitimately with the double click on the fob? That's just using a feature of the system surely. Jeez bring back key locks. :dull:

Big difference between using a feature, and removing it's capability resulting in CAT2 downgrade. Believe me, if an insurance company has the chance of a get out of jail card free, they will use it.
