1956515 size tyre on mk1 fabia estate

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Will putting above size tyres on my 1.9 TDI estate 2007 mk1 fabia cause any damage. Will there be enough clearance on top between the tyre and suspension strut?

I am not concerned about off roader look as profile is quite thick at 65.

They are going on standard steel wheels.

Many thanks in advance.

They won't fit, much too tall.

A few years ago I got a set of Avus 2 alloys from a mk iv vw golf (ET35) with the above mentioned specs, 195/65 R15. I knew from the start the size was bad, but it was a temporary setup. I had no issues or whatsoever while I ran with those tires.

L.E.: it was a hatchback, not an estate.

Thanks .

While you had these on- did they end up scratching or hitting against any suspension part etc.

Or any damage on suspension parts?

Your speedo will be hopelessly inaccurate and the front tyres will foul the arch on full lock, also your acceleration will be much slower.

They are the wrong size, @Alexandruis a wild man, best advice is NOT to fit them.

Yup, they were wrong, car wasn't handling good, but I was able to run with them for a few months until I purchased 195/50, which is the correct size.  As per suspension parts, I did not notice anything which might have gone wrong.

oh nice find. I always thought those have been et35. my bad.

Offset on standard steels seems to be 43mm. They'll sit "in" further by 5mm than Alexandru. You may need spacers if you do it.

Why are you doing 65 profile exactly?
