New Superb Sportline Plus with Virtual Cockpit but no TSR - Can I display Speed Sign info in Virtual Cockpit or not?

Featured Replies

Title should be self explanatory but to elaborate, I have succeeded in getting the speed signs to display on the Columbus Navigation screen but am unable to find a way to feature them at all on the virtual cockpit. This seems to me to be such an obvious thing that a driver might want to configure that I'm wondering if I'm missing a trick, although I've looked everywhere. Lots of posts on this site about problems with TSR and displaying these signs but I don't have TSR and wonder if that's the root of the problem.

So to satisfy my curiosity can any owners of Sportline Plus models with a VC but no TSR please confirm what's possible and what isn't!

Many thanks

You need TSR to get the speed limit to show in the cluster 👍

I think TSR is optional throughout the range.  On my 2016 car, I didn't have it when I bought it at 8 months old, but it was activated through VCDS.  I understand this can't be done on later cars as it's now protected by a code.

If it’s a 2020 facelift car it is now and FeC and the best quote I’ve had for enabling is €400 with €320 extra for pACC. If you have a pre facelift car it’s a DIY job with OBDEleven PRO.

Hi. Thanks for the responses. It's actually a brand new 280 Sportline but because they are in such short supply I wasn't able to select options, had to accept it as built. I'm coming from a 2018 L&K 280 which was pre-registered so again I didn't get to select options for that one either. Fortunately the toys that I've lost going from the L&K, such as self parking, electric front passenger seat and TSR were of little value to me personally, and in the Sportline I've got the VC, Canton and a rear camera to play with instead. I have finally figured out how to customise the Home screens and have got the Speed signs displayed there so that will do me! It was just bugging me a bit that it should be an option to display the Speed signs in the VC but hey ho.

Thanks again

It’s only an option to have signs on the VC with TSR unfortunately, it would have to have been specified from new or it’s a case of paying to have it enabled.

Can pre facelift (2017) have pACC?
of course it will need a5 camera and adaptive?

Well this is all very disappointing. I have a MY21 280 Sportline (with A5 camera etc) and there's a glaring empty space in the centre top of the VC where speed signs should be displayed. I have VCDS and was going to try and enable TSR, but looks like it's yet another thing they've managed to lock-out on the MY21 cars. Hmmph!

Yes, depends of a few requirements, which I wrote there, because someone else was also asking about it there, take a look :)

For example I get it working on my Octavia MY2016
