  • Well, after a 7 month wait, I picked up my Sportline facelift today. All options present, including Canton, and the electric child locks with the family pack.

Yeah thats why i dont understand wanting a lot of pk on a car that cant benefit it all. I have a motorcycle that leaves them behind 😛

Mois Aussi.

I occasionally walk my wee grandson to school and the road is choked with cars, including RS4, brand new RS3, X5s and Q5s aplenty.

How people cope with these choices I don’t know.

My neighbour came home with an SQ5 Coupe recently. He works from home FFS and it moves about once a week.

I bumped into an ex-colleague at a cafe recently. He’d parked beside us.

A nearly new Audi RS6 Vorsprung model. I fell off my chair when I discovered it lists around £110K.

My kicks also come on 2 wheels. Who doesn’t need 300 BHP/ton?

My skip truck / removal van / taxi will provide “boring” load lugging duties for a while yet.

ps - sorry for digression 😀

I use this when I want to go fast and as much as I can when I commute.

The Skodiaq (if it ever comes) will be the family load lugger!

Currently it is showing as 9 months basic wait

plus 2, 3, or 4 months for some options

so some specs are 13 months wait

site is updated regularly, scroll to Skoda and Kodiaq

Just be thankful not ordered an Octavia iV, that’s 18 months

Well that website is just depressing (but useful!). A full 12 months for me if that’s to be believed 🤬

Doesn’t look like the cars will come before WW3 kicks off?

Not at the rate Russia are going. Skoda need to be more like Putin 😅

My VRS is at status 38 now and waiting for a boat. I’m hoping to collect in March all being well.

245ps is plenty for me in a daily driver whilst I’m carting 3 kids around. I’m not sure why you’d need more in that context. I have a VX220 at around 300hp per tonne if I wanted to go quicker (which in England means for 5 seconds before you end up behind the next egg timer).

Drifting off topic but why would any choose an  SUV if they want performance?  Firstly you won't get anywhere near the traction of a lower car and secondly even if you are going  at a  certain speed, it will seem much slower as you are high up.

Maybe it's just me.  I drove quite a few "fast" cars  (the best one, not the fastest, by far being a Honda Civic  Type R but I digress).  You could drop a 6 litre V12 in the Kodiaq and it would be worse (well obviously you couldn't, but you get my drift).

I suggest you're looking at it the wrong way around.  If you need/want a veicle of the size/capacity/practicality of the Kodiaq and value a bit of pep in the driving experience over lower running cost, you end up at the VRS.  You may regard this as mad, however (thankfully) everyone is different and one size doesn't have to fit all.  IMHO.

Agreed the VRS Kodiaq is pointless

I have no idea about the looks if its that different, probably also a factor to get a vrs.

For me personally monte carlo interiour kamiq and scala i do not like.

Defo a topic for elsewhere but nobody who's after a performance car would be interested in a Kodiaq. Correct me if I'm wrong, has anyone said that's all they're looking for from their Kodiaq?

I'm happy to drive around in my 1.5tsi watching the rat race go about their daily lives. If you want to arrive at the local recycling centre 30 secs quicker than me, then buy a vRS. If you want to arrive 30 secs before the vRS then buy a Civic Type R - and make 4 trips instead of 1. It's all relative.

Apologies to anyone if I have  offended them.  That really wasn't the purpose of my post.

It's a diverse world and everyone wants something slightly different from their cars.  I get that.

I was just throwing my reasoning why a "fast(ish)" SU V is pointless.

I agree. I was choosing between Superb and Kodiaq, but as Kodiaq didn't have a sufficient engine it should have for a vehicle this size, I chose Superb.

Now I understand Superb is no performance auto, I just want a fully loaded car to have enough punch for overtaking or merging lanes.
