Anyone else ordered a new Kodiaq?

Rang every garage around. Most have new stock coming in next few weeks. I had the pick of maybe 20. Most style but I wanted sportline. Got a steal gray with 20in and vir cockpit both extras in Ireland. Waiting on price for runner and towbar and few other bits. But had choice of black red etc. Worth calling around the garages lads. I only started looking 3 days ago.

Dealers buying up more than they need to markup while customer orders wait seriously does my nut in.

Money grabbing selfishness.

  • Well, after a 7 month wait, I picked up my Sportline facelift today. All options present, including Canton, and the electric child locks with the family pack.

There might not be loads of customers waiting for orders in Ireland…

And from everything I’ve heard and read, the situation over here in the UK is entirely different - very little stock at dealers.

I'd second that. And to be honest if you look at the prices Skoda charge for a Kodiaq in Ireland, I'm not sure it'd be on my list.  For the Sportline, all you can order is diesel - no petrols available.

If anyone from UK has time on their hands, head over to Skoda.ie and try to configure your car as near as possible to UK spec. and you'll be in for a shock. Even adding several thousand pounds to say the car, you then have to factor in the Irish models come less well equipped than ours. ( I've only looked at Sportline ). When you try to price them like-4-like...   Wow! that's one expensive car.   From memory, I seem to remember the Irish car spec'd the same as mine was nearly £10,000 more than UK list or £17k MORE than I paid for my 2021 - and that was their 5 seat version !

Not sure if it's due to their tax system but the Irish get an increadibly poor deal.

The market prices today are several pennies more than the prices those of us waiting ordered at months ago.

I tried... but the VRS isn't on the configurator - assume that means it isn't available in Ireland!

However, as you point out, base on the Sportline (150 diesel with DSG) is nearly €54k, or £45k, which is the base for the VRS over here in the UK.

Edit: Also... that's not the final price: 😳😱

All prices are subject to change based on the final configured vehicle CO2/NOx technical data. All prices exclude Delivery & Related charges. Please consult your dealer before placing your order.

Puts about ten grand onto a 40 grand  car if not more. Hence why a lot of people used to bring them into Ireland from the UK before you left the union. Now its cheaper to buy here then to bring one in from UK. Just part of living in Ireland we always paid a lot more for cars. Fuel is cheaper though not by much

Maybe in the UK. Haven't moved in Ireland since the face-lift came in. Maybe your getting the new one at the old model price. If that's the case I'd be happy waiting

Nope, order was held off until facelift. Prices have gone up at least 3 times since then.

Finally some daylight :)  The white Audi is the car I drove while I waited for my RS (for some reason it is just RS here). Kodiaq is so much better than that Audi (and we all know Audi isn't a bad car. That one had similar engine too - 169kw 2.0TSI. For winter, I put on 19'' wheels.

It could be the reflection of the snow but your car seems a lighter shade than mine.   Was it bought as graphite grey?

Yes, it is graphite grey. But it looks very different I agree. Before, the pickup at the dealer's:

Haven't moved here but we pay about 10k more then UK for less spec. I had to pay 2k  for 20in and vir cockpit

I got an update from my dealer.

Order date June 12th, SportLine 2.0 TSI with a lot of extras: blindspot, 360 cameras, canton, etc.

December 17th , dealer offered to remove Canton from the extras list to speed up production.

January 11th, got unconfirmed production week - 4

January 27th, car is in production, estimated delivery date to Latvia - 2-3 weeks.

Wow congratulations!

Though maybe... Just maybe... That means they're putting a few specced up SportLines through the line? 🤞

Just had a look there. The last few years there is about 2000 more new skoda cars sold in Ireland then in the UK. Ireland is a bigger market for them. Might explain why we're getting cars quicker and spare ones. Just a thought might be nothing to do with it. That's just the south of Ireland  with 5 million people over the UK population.

@Colmgaughan. What figure do you have for Skoda first registered in the RoI annually or all passenger cars?    Skoda do around 85,000 first registrations annually in the Uk in a good year, and in the first 7 months of 2021 did more globally  than in 2019 pre Covid.     They did 64,700 Kodiaq deliveries globally in first 7 months 2021.   EDIT.   The statistics I see is less than 150,000 cars in 2021 or 2020 first registered in Ireland.   That would be less than how many of just the top 3 selling model combined from Ford or Vauxhall or maybe VW in the UK.     We need to look see how many Skoda are first registered in Scotland with about the same population of Ireland and that get right hand drive cars.   Cars are first registered in Scotland that then go south to be leased etc.  Same as can happen anyplace in the UK.

9,300 new Skoda cars sold in the RoI 2019 is the figure I can see.  That is first registered as many are only sold to Skoda / dealers as new and then sold as used cars.   Ex management.  Fixing numbers just the same as happens in the UK.

Some months in the UK more than in a year in Ireland.

My details are wrong so. Didn't do a deep dive. Just a quick Google. I wondered why the UK didn't like skoda. I see now you do

& now the UK not in the EU and the Average Co2 emissions not getting just put in with the EU as Skoda/ VW Ireland can.
