I check factory build dates every week and every week it goes back a week. So at the current rate of movement the car will never come. 👏👏👏. F’ing good work Skoda

Just seen someone on Facebook who ordered last month and their car is already built. Might actually pop over to the factory and murder someone.

  • Well, after a 7 month wait, I picked up my Sportline facelift today. All options present, including Canton, and the electric child locks with the family pack.

I have figured it out. Took me some time but The cars with bigger discounts and less profit have been put to the back of the queue. Enough data there now to show this

I know someone said in this thread that the factory can't see how you're paying or what you're paying - but the more time goes on and the more evidence I see I think you're exactly right and that commenter was mistaken.

Hmm. Don't agree. Mine is pretty well discounted - Sportline with towbar, winter pack, digital dash, ordered 10/11/21 with initial build expected August time. Beginning of this year build week given as week 7, slipped to week 9 and is today confirmed as in production (end of wk8), expected end of March/early April.

I believe it depends on the spec and add ons particularly relating to availability of those parts and chips.

How much is pretty well discounted?

Similar spec to mine though, maybe they're building mine right now and the dealer just hasn't checked........? 🤣

mines a sportline with pano roof and digital dash, digital dash i imagine a lot have as some models come as std, pano roof again not many chips. I ordered nearly 10 months ago if someone out there is prepared to show me no car same as mine 1.5 with more specs hasnt been built i'll take everything i've said back..............

but they wont be able to absolute **** show this is

I'm buying on PCP so get the discount for that plus a substantial discount from the dealer (I'm a return buyer if that makes a difference) plus a very good price on the Kodiaq I'm giving them back.

My new one is a 2.0tdi 200; that might make a difference?? Might be imagining things but seem to recall something about delays on the 1.5??

Not sure I agree with the discount thing either, sounds like you all need tin foil hats!

mine is ready to go. Collecting next Friday.

When ordering this week I was told there was a longer delay on Diesel engine cars than petrol…

No, it's a VW Passat. It may share the platform and other things with the Skoda Superb, but it's not a Skoda.

Agreed.  Best lights I've ever had on a car.  Might not technically be the best available in the market however if I'd had to pay extra for them as an option I'd have been happy (within £££ reason).

Such as...?

The camera is poor very poor. Auto wipers not great. Slight rubbing noise from drivers window. Road noise not great. And door handle plastic let's it down. No light what used to be the ashtray area if you know what I mean. All small things I know but my 2018 superb sportline was better but not better if you know what I mean. I love the lights the boot is amazing gearbox nice mabe a bit slow at low revs but that's fine. Just after having skoda for 12 years out of the last 16 years this one seems less value then the rest. No its value compared to kia vw volvo but just feel like there resting on there name at this stage. Looks good drives good but the value has now gone. You get what you pay for

Kodiaq Sportline TDI 4X4. 36 MONTH PERSONAL LEASE. £1700 DEPOSIT. £360 a month. Its a great deal but have no profit margin at all. Thats why i think its last in line. Ordered from a Skoda dealer in July and now build week 15. SKODA are budget/value cars and corners are cut, if anyone thinks different you have a huge unconscious bias.

Just here to steal @WarksKodiaq crown.

Order placed 26/01/21 for the pre-facelift SKODA KODIAQ ESTATE 1.5 TSI Sport Line 5dr DSG [7 Seat] , No extras, Bl

I've never had a confirmed build date at any point, I had a provisional one in Feb pre facelift then another in Aug post facelift but both times it was removed without explanation.

I used to rant at Skoda chat but they won't even discuss orders anymore, they just direct you to the dealership who claim they can't do anything. It feels like I'm ****ing into the wind as there doesn't seem to be any sort of complaint or escalation process.

The update is always the same - "Hope you are well. There is still no confirmed build date for your vehicle; once there is a confirmed build date the vehicle is usually 4 to 6 weeks from factory to the dealership"

Lease on a 3/36 @ £894/£298. Too good a deal to cancel in the current climate so the wait goes on. Sadly Skoda have us all by the balls and they know it.

You have my genuine sympathis @Tarqy, our experiences are mirrored. When I see an email from the lease company in my inbox, I get hopes up, and it is to confirm that there is still nothing to confirm.... genuinely feels like the car will never come.

So who is the lease with ?

Did this company accept your order and give you a date even though they have no control over the supply from Skoda, if they did then they have misled you.   What you need to do is go back to them and ask for evidence of how they intended to meet the supply date (or were they just doing false advertising to hook you in).

What you don’t seem to be considering is the good deal might have been voided months ago, and they could be just sending you garbage emails until you eventually get bored and formally cancel.   As I see it it makes no difference to them if they tell you 1 more week or 1 more month, or even 1 year as both sides probably guessing date is fantasy.  Realistically what would you do if still receiving same email in 6 months.  Or if in 6 months look back with hindsight and think why didn’t I give up then.   If it was me I would be wanting the leaseCo to provide some correspondence from Skoda about your order to see if they are telling you 100% of the truth

I agree with this. Are they even manufacturing pre facelift Kodiaqs anymore? My guess would be no and there is no chance of them doing so.

But others may have much better knowledge. But if I was waiting for an old version of a car for over a year I’d probably be assuming it was never coming especially given I’ve had no information on build and given production lines have shifted onto a newer model…

I was told all existing orders would be built as facelifts.

It's through leasing options and its legit, I have the SLI number for the order.

I was able to track it with Skoda chat until they went silent last year. They even told me the order was placed via DM Keith Leeds so i know who the middleman is.

I've also been able to extended my current VWFS lease by providing the SLI number as proof of an order for a new VW group vehicle.

Most of the people who jumped on the same deal have received their vehicles as it was discussed quite a bit on the pistonheads leasing thread, I guess i just chose the wrong colour or something.

This is true, prior to them having their tongues cut out Skoda chat confirmed that the order had been switched over to a facelift model.

Casually watching them not build my car...

The most revealing bit of that video for me was that the front lights are all one unit, with a bit of body trim lay across the front. Always just assumed that the fog/driving/whatever you want to call them lights below the main ones would be a completely separate unit. Ho hum.
