Think I fixed the rattle

Featured Replies

Hi,

I've had a rattle coming from my dash for a while now. Usually thumping it just above the Hazard switch fixed it, temporarily anyway. It always came back though, mostly when motorway cruising.

I took the air vent out yesterday. With a little prising it popped right out. Anyway, behind it I saw that the two air ducts weren't in their foam lined housings. They had fallen out behind and were loose. I popped them back into place and they seem much more secure now. A quick trip out today and I didn't hear anything, but I'll need a few good motorway runs to be sure.

Hopefully now the dash has shut up, I can concentrate on the rattle coming from the parcel shelf :)

But seriously, does the grease help with the removal? Or does it help stop things rattling around?

:D
