Alarm Going Off.

Featured Replies

On my Superb 2016 diesel estate SE business class this the alarm has gone of the past two nights.

Two nights ago at 1am then half an hour later.

Then last night about the same time, I then left the car unlocked the rest of the night.

Never had this problem before.

I do carry gardening equipment around so could be insects in car I guess, but strange same time it went off.

Could it be just because of the hot weather?

Is there a way of turning the alarm off?

Thanks in advance.

A double press of the 'lock' button on the key, will disable internal monitoring and deadlocks but won't turn the alarm off.

If there’s no button / switch on the drivers side door pillar then you could try - Screen - Vehicle Settings - Opening Closing - Internal monitoring - On / Off………

The interior monitoring is very sensitive!

Mine has gone off when the National Trust sticker fell off the windscreen:D

Thanks for replies.

I've been away so have not locked my car as it was in a safe place and didn't want to disturb where I was staying.

So first night back home tonight, will see what happens!

Thanks,

Tim

My old Passat alarm kept going off at 2am years ago, turns out it was because of the water ingress problem and cables had corroded.

I used VCDS to let me know what triggered the alarm though, so if you have that, it’ll be worth using it to find the source then work from there

Arh - an age old problem that I occassionally have - its seems to effect my MK2 and MK3 Octavia's.  Basically, dust gets into the ultrasonic detectors in the car and causes false trigger events.  Gently blow out or hoover the dust from the sensors (you need to be careful - don't just get your 5kW hoover in there cos they will break - gentle dust removal needed) - the sensors are located above the driver's head in the middle of the car in the roof lining (where there seem to be 'hidden' grills) next to the curtosy on/off/auto light.

Had this on my Superb estate a few weeks ago.

1st time I think was because the rear seats were down & there was stuff in the boot ready to go to the dump the next morning. Not sure why this would trigger the alarm but it was the only thing that was different to normal.

The 2nd time was due to the dash cam which had come unstuck from the windscreen & was hanging by its lead from the head lining.

On an old Alfa I once had the alarm went off when the battery voltage dropped too low after standing for a day or so. Turned out the boot light was staying on & draining the battery.

If it's going off at the same time every night, I'd suggest looking into the health of your 12V battery?
