My 2021 Skoda Karoq SEL 1.5 TSI SEL

KESSY Entry has stopped working for my key I have to unlock the car with the button on the fob

My wife’s key works perfectly as she approaches the car it unlocks ready for her.

Does anyone have an idea why my key would have stopped proximity activation please

Try replacing the battery. There are many posts on this issue. Here is one!

I do apologise perhaps I should’ve mentioned that the car is just three months old and the key fob activates unlocking from 3 m away without any problems. With this in mind do you still think it’s worth changing the battery as I don’t have any I have to go and buy some

It's conceivable that the battery voltage has dropped enough to affect the radio proximity signal, but the unlock circuit is not yet affected. As the battery is the usual cause of problems, a dealer's service department would probably change it as the first and cheapest option when faultfinding - even though only three months use seems premature!

As a test, you could try swapping the batteries between your key and your wife's and see if the fault moves with the battery or not. (or if it's just a poor contact in the battery compartment, you may cure the fault that way!).

You could switch the batteries between keys and see if your one starts to function.

EDIT. Wrote reply and didn't post. Apologies for duplication.

Went out and bought brand new Duracell batteries, just the same. In infotainment unit I re established myself as primary user, now my wife’s key won’t do KESSY

if I reset the infotainment system it will take time to restore it, I’m hoping that might fix it? Am I right that no configuration is stored in the key?

many Thanks
