ECU Map Done - Now it drives a bit funny....

Featured Replies

Howdy,

i Have had my 2017 2.0 TSI 206kw (280PS) Superb Mapped - twice actually, apparently different files....both stage 1 ish but he said he'd gone for max he could!

it drove pretty rough on the first tune (after 1000kms) and was surging in power between WOW-thats an epic increase and HUH-what happened....

i's still doing it and the tuner has gone a little quite....

my question to the guru's out there is - Could this be caused by the DSG torque settings? would a DSG remap fix it - the original tuner can't do these?

Or should i start from scratch again with a complete ECU and TCU remap by the same provider?

Heeeeeelp!

Should have mentioned its a New Zealand Car - unsure if that make any difference - apart from a reduction in tuners/performance specialists on these models.

highly unlikely its caused by the DSG.
the DSG, in its stock form, is more than capable in handling Stage 1 ECU tuning.

something is wrong with the ECU map being loaded into ur car.

Plenty have tuned their 206/280 Superb with no issues.

Ok. Yeah. The original guy is now offering to pull it back to standard, just got to work on him about the refund now.....

Warn car to "sober up and drive serious"! :D

No option for Revo where you are then?

Reading this just reminds me of the horror story another member had with a “custom” remap which blew the turbo and ended up costing him thousands before he chucked in the towel and sold the car.

Plenty of people have used Revo on this engine without problems so if that’s an option I’d say look into that as it’s a known safe map.

it’s certainly who I’ll be going for if/when I remap mine.
