Superb Scout conversion

Featured Replies

I love my Superb but  the absence of a Scout model in the UK makes me very grumpy.

IN an effort to keep this car until an electric model I want comes along, I'd like to Scoutify it.

Is anyone aware of a modification kit to raise suspension and add underbody protection? I've gota 2018 272 L+K with DCC.

I don't want an Enyaq as the interface is too touchscreen and the speed limiter they have seems dangerous.

I am not sure by Scoutify, if you mean stick bits of plastic on lower panels for a rugged look, an underbody kit, protection pack (mats for carpets, boot liners etc against mud) or you mean give it rugged wheels.

Can’t help on plastic guards, the protection pack is available from accessories list, and the tyres would be better with something with a meaty tread like Michelin Cross climate 2

raise ground clearance a couple of inches

underbody stone protection much like the rough road kit available  on Kodiaq.

Not fussed by cosmetic changes.

Already use Crossclimates and they are very impressive.

If you're looking for longer rear springs, you might want to take a look at:

Paint it that lovely metallic orange !

Ooohhh....be careful. You have DCC. Completely different suspension setup.

You will need the Scout springs with the Scout DCC raised suspension (I know it was an option on the Octavia 2019 Scouts). I saw that Skoda were doing a 2019/20 Superb Scout for the European market; back trace this model and see if they did DCC. If so, try and find the springs and DCC suspension parts to fit.

This is taken from the Skoda motorsport site and refers to the facelift version….The most distinctive feature of the SCOUT version is the rough road package, which is fitted as standard. It includes the lower engine cover, sill covers and a ground clearance increase of 15 mm. For driving in genuine wilderness, the SCOUT offers, on top of the standard-fitted 4x4 system, a new Offroad mode for the Driving Mode Select. Optionally, it can also be equipped with a DCC adaptive suspension with adjustable damper stiffness.

Retrofitting the right Scout suspension with correct height is a good point. But IMHO going without the specific plastics kits on wings would lead to a very strange look. Too high on its « legs ».

Also, part of the extra height on the Octavia scout is in the tyres. It's enough of a difference that you should probably get the speed recalibrated.

The cars over read on the Speedo with OEM tyres by about 3 mph at a displayed 70 mph. You are only doing 67 mph.  The very small extra sidewall increase you will get with the taller tyres will only have the Speedo reading more accurately.   The difference that the height of the lowest parts of the cars you are trying to protect is only that between Ooo and Ahh as the as actress said.
