Skoda 1.6 TDI engine sound

Featured Replies

Hi I want to ask I have a skoda fabia combi 1.6 TDI and when I turn off the engine. So I hear this sound from around the engine wiring. Some say it's a hot exhaust or coal or a flap. Someone heard something similar? Thank you.

Engine sound

Sounds like some one has blocked off the EGR value at some point and the noise is the flap trying to shut after motor is turned off, you could check the rubber pipe going to the value it might have broken and this will also cause this sort of sound when you shut the engine off

so you think it could have something to do with EGR, maybe clean it ... because the car is driving well, only this sound makes me wrinkle.

Surely it's more likely to be the ASV after shutdown, try disconnecting it to see if it still does it.

So I heard it today and it's the sound from the front. So it looks like I'm going to have to either replace it or clean it Butterfly Valve. or does it somehow remove it in software? What do you think?

i have this sound too, 1.6 tdi cayc

nobody has touched my EGR valve, ex fleet car as owner and me as the 2nd so i doubt the fleet company has made any modifications

but now you have me curious 🤨
