Car time doesn't change automatically

Featured Replies

Even though Clock time Source is selected GPS but time doesn't auto change..am i missing something in the setting?

Nope. That’s just how it operates as default. There is a VCDS change you can make to enable the auto-updating. I’ve never bothered doing it though.

Does anyone know the coding? Its really annoying if it doesn't update automatically.

Just un-tick the DST box

Do it manually so much easier 😂

If you go searching in VCDS section at the top of the forum, you will find how to code up automatic DST saving. You need GPS module to make this work properly.

Couldn't find any. Just followed the link that PetrolDave posted on his/her reply but that is for Columbus sytem. Detail instructions weren't there even.

Hi Wanderer, Could you tell me how did you do it via OBD11? Thank you.

It can only be really annoying twice a year and takes 2 minutes to change the time if you remember how you did it last time.

I know that, but every year these Twice cause me lots of serious problem and I never remember to change the time in the car. Better if I can enable automatic option, then why not!

Via the built-in apps in OBD11.

That probably explains why it doesn’t work.

I haven't got enough credit to try this..May be tomorrow. I tried through adaptation and found the option in 5F but it doesn't allow me to do this adaptation. don't know why?

No idea. The garage have confiscated the adapter as my car is under experiment for oil sensor failure (in excess of 12x) and they seem to think that I've been tampering (which I haven't) so I can't use OBD11 UFN.

You probably need to enter a security code to enable changing adaptions first.

If I recall correctly, it's 31347 :)

Sounds like more hassle than just going to the menu and clicking the hour back or forward twice a year 🥴

Worked for me on the Amundsen I used to have?

If you know how to use VCDS or OBD11 those instructions tell all you need to know - BTW no security code is needed.

Okay ...here is the coding. See Page 2 for the specific coding you need. It works with all MIB systems (not just the advertised Columbus). I've tried it on a Bolero and Amunsden too and it works just fine.

Did my Pre fl using OBD11, worked first time for me, the instructions  are the same I believe.

1 - Controller 5F - Infotainment

2 - 10 - Adaptations

3 - Summertime Automatic

4 - Stored Value - Europe

Thanks everyone for the replies and help but i figured out that there is no way of doing automatic time changing in this car ..the coding or from the app of OBD11 will just give me Summer (DST) option which i already have in the car.

I dont think anybody else has this automatic time changing enabled in their car..neither the DAY display .

Well it is possible... Works perfectly in my MK3:

Did you reboot the headunit after making the change by holding the power button for 10-20s until the boot logo was displayed?

Really!!! How did you do it? When I was doing it using OBD11's app, it wasn't successful. I tried to do it other way as well and it didn't accept the changing. i red the article related failure any adaptation and it said, some coding car doesn't accept and some coding car asks for the security code. So I thought, my specific car wouldn't accept the change.

Did anybody do this change in their car same as my car ?
