Octavia taken off sale (possibly)

Featured Replies

Just gone on Skodas UK website to configure an Octavia VRS but it’s missing. Rest of the models as showing but not the Octavia.

This often happens also when they are doing updates on the model. Like changing options, equipment packages, etc

Probably removing some options such as Canton as they’ve done on other models.

When I looked a couple of weeks ago before ordering I don't remember seeing the Canton System as an option and it listed the VRS as having "8 speakers" as standard. Must be something else being changed in the background. Others are probably more clued in but could this be the change to MY22? When I worked with Toyota it was around mid October they started making the model year changes typically.

You can't even order the canton as an option now. It never used to be standard, but now it doesn't exist in the UK. I read in a German forum that you can still spec it, but the dealers warn about extra delays if you do.

That wouldn't worry me much. I think it's highly overrated.

Its odd, to me, but the Octavia has not been able to be configured all week, in the UK on the official Skoda website. Nothing to say why but it does not appear as an option in the configuration. Odd its been missing for at least 4 days now.

The dealership I used for my (ill-fated) Octavia purchase (and rejection) is showing exactly zero Octavia's either as 'Dealer New' or 'New In Stock'.

The only Octavia's on sale there are used with mileage.

There may be something to this.

It went offline shortly after I wrote to them about a problem with their Octavia Build-Your-Own function. Essentially, the site would not display the correct OTR price for an Octavia build but worked with all other Skoda models. In their reply to me they stated they tested the functionality with multiple browsers and didn't find any problem. I switched from Safari to Firefox and went back in to see if Safari was the problem...and the Octavia was gone. I once again contacted Skoda Customer Relations and received this reply on November 10:

Thank you for your follow up email to ŠKODA UK.
Yes the OCTAVIA has been removed but will be re-added in next few days due to a system update.

Thank you again for your and understanding on the matter.

Just realised, in addition to main UK brochure, there is also a separate SE Technology spec brochure dated 8th November

Octavia from £ 21,955 to £26,505

And for convenience, here is normal UK Octavia brochure

system update = price increase  😂

Dealer says they can’t spec any either, and oddly for an SEL for example what they can search is showing as a 1.4tsi 150 (ie non iV), not a 1.5. Be interesting to see when they come back on sale what has changed.

So the configurator is back in the UK. Came back this morning. The biggest thing is that Rear View Camera is no longer an option for any Trim level other than the VRS. I ordered a SEL Octavia on the 10th with the Rear View Camera Option but was told yesterday that its no longer available and their ordering system flagged as it being unavailable.

I guess time to look into retrofit options around London. If someone has any suggestions for OEM, would love to hear.

Looking at the new Brochure, it does say now that Rear View Camera is only for VRS which is a bummer.

I think it was off because they changed options and pricing. In Finland my current order would cost ~700€ more.

In Romania, the config I ordered 3 months ago is now more than 2.000 Euro pricier, and some of the options are missing - so the difference is higher. If I take into account the total discount I got from the dealer (inluding the packages discounts) the "real" price difference is above 4.000 Euro, with less options.

Yeah, I think this was inevitable. Most manufactures are removing features and increasing prices and the wait times are getting ridiculous. Worst time to buy a car it seems.

It certainly is a very bad time,I ordered mine 20 may and latest delivery date is 28 febuary2022.it was ok with me as the wife has a Mini Cooper s .we went on holiday at start of October and loaned her car to the son.low and behold he has knackered it up.whay we don't know.so just hoping all will ok by the time we get back at start of December.if not don't know what we can do.we live about 5 miles to any shops and others like doctors are further away.

When I went to use the configurator last night I wasn’t able to differentiate between manual or auto options when choosing engine/drive setups.

I also noticed they have removed the new Phoenix Orange colour from the pallet too. Could this be while they try to shift stock of existing colours?

I noticed that as well. The only way to tell was the price changing.

Re Phoenix Orange. I doubt that’s the reason. It’s not going to be a mega popular colour like silver or white so can’t really see it having a huge impact on potential stock items. With that said, I have no explanation myself so who knows.

Yes I noticed that, also might be me, but I couldn't see a way to get the Rear view camera at all on a SE L....

That option doesn't exit anymore, among a few others. Supposedly Škoda can't get enough parts so they simply removed the option for now.
