Fabia MKII vRS CAVE 2011 leaked radiator

Featured Replies

Hy!

The radiator leaked yesterday. The same problem occurred a year ago. I didn’t hit the from, bottom of the car. It was done at high speed during overtaking in sport mode. What could be the problem?

The radiator wouldn't leak and then stop, if its damage it would have a continual leak.
If you are experiencing coolant loss, your best bet is to get the car booked in and have the system pressure tested.

There is a leak under the radiator and water is flowing from the tank. It's like it's punctured by the pressure. I'm taking the car to a mechanic today. If the pressure is high, what could be the problem?

Can you physically see the leak? these radiators are cheap to replace and have been known to corrode in the corners, a simple

pressure test will let yo know if its the radiator or your waterpump.

I see the water under the radiator. Cheap? Not in Hungary... :D I am here the mechanical guy, and I hope He found the problem.

I paid £62(€72) for a EIS radiator and fitted it myself in a couple of hours, haven’t had any issues.

Not sure if Hungary has the equivalent of eurocarparts.com as that’s where I purchased mine with a voucher code a few years ago.

Yesterday checked by the mechanic. He ordered a nissen radiator. I hope this will be good.

Nissen are okay suppliers of coolant radiators and AC condensers and evaporators it seems.

Looks like your one is leaking where the end parts get clamped onto the centre core, Ford Europe were early adopters of using that "new" design back in 1980's most new cars required a new coolant radiator and a new heater matrix within the first year of warranty, but these later ones will not fail so frequently I'd think - very annoying when the heater matrix leaks in your almost new car, been there done that - twice with the same car, but no failures since then(1982)!
