New style skoda badges

Featured Replies

Seen a few people asking about these so thought would post this up in case people still looking. dont forget mk1 fabia are the 80mm front and rear ebay item number 313758717250 I brought a set then just plasti sprayed them black matt look great on better than the old emblem.

Good to know. There's a few Mk1s kicking about with them. Really makes it feel a bit less dated for a car that's 21 years old with a design that's potentially older. :)

Too dodgy to mess with the steering wheel badge because of the airbag.

I was going to send that but I've obviously forgot... :D, but aye, I'd rather not have the thing blowing up in my face.

I know PastyBoy used to do stick-on badges but he's no longer active on here sadly.

I have a spare wheel and airbag was going to do it on that if I could find a new style one to fit as you say would not mess with the one on the car dont fancy that going off.

Just make sure it doesn't blow up in your face, literally. If you've got a semi-decent printer and some adhesive paper then you could always print off a badge to size and stick it on. :)

No I mean that the OEM badge on the airbag is attached in such a way as to not embed itself in your face in the event of a crash if the airbag goes off. Anything other than a sticker, as Ryan suggests, is a bad idea.

There's no reason why it would go off, it's electrically triggered by the airbag module, it's designed NOT to go off under any other circumstances, it's extremely inert, capable of being thrown around and pounded by angry little fists, it will not go off even in a cabin fire or if the car is struck by lightning.

Otherwise you'd be reading about random deployments leading to fatal accidents all the time, there are hundreds of millions of them driving around all over the world, more sitting harmlessly in scrapyards or parked up.

I just meant I was going to stick a new style one on if I could find one of course I eould not go drilling or anything stupid into the airbag lol.

I know mate but you can't just glue a badge on. The factory badges are specially bonded to not come off with airbag deployment.

Yes I have specific bonding glue mate I know the inn's and outs as I worked in a car plant for 20 years just can't find an appropriate  sized badge.

Would the badge from a wheel trim fit? I know the old Skoda badges were metal and could come off with a flat-headed screwdriver from the trims. :)

No those are much larger its only a small badge on the steering wheel.
