They reckoned a cover note for a week (minimum time) and approx a £25 charge - speaking generally without reference to courtesy car model etc (details of which would be required).

Hi Mo

I would change your insurance, my company does it FREE,(NFU) but as you say you need to tell them the details, but as long as you don't have both cars in use at the same time you are fine, as when your car is in the garage, there insurance looks after yours.

and there is no minimum time(well24 hrs)

I used to book in to get courtesy cars when my car was in for a days work. The dealer phoned my insurance company in the morning and swapped my insurance over to the courtesy car. By 5pm it had reverted back to my own car. My ins co. told me there would be a

When i took my car in for a service (i had phoned a few days before and booked it in stating that i required a courtesy car), all they took was a photocopy of my drivers licence and that was it. I didn't take any insurance docs or anything (from what i can remember). :D

My local skoda dealer doesnt charge for courtesy cars, and they cover them with their own policy. I just had to sign a piece of paper that stated I was responsible for any fines incurred.

On the otherhand the Merc dealer that used to service my old c class required fully comp cover provided by the customer. Was never charged any extra for the courtesy car despite it being worth 20k more than the car being serviced.

Just givern my courtsey car back this afternoon, all we had to do was show our driveing licences, for swimbo and I to drive it.

I know alot of dealers charge an admin fee as the cars often come back with naff all fuel in them and in a right old state.

Plus the firm has to pay massive insurance costs if loaning out cars etc.
