I had a leak repaired on it recently and I'm sure he said he drained 1.7 which was enough , could the shortfall be the cause of slight jerking ?

Id say no, what do you mean jerking? The kangaroo effect?

He won't of drained it properly, I think you're barking up the wrong tree.

Very minor momentary loss of power mainly felt cruising in 4th

Changed spark plugs and air filter , no change, doing oil and filter this weekend

You sure it's not just the ACT kicking in?

Cars done 100k and I've done the last 83k , there's definitely a slight change

So if you refill via the reverse switch on top can you not just top up via the reverse switch on top ?

You don't know what the current level is though do you? i found that even 200ml less than recommended, caused issues, there is a post further up that explains the re fill procedure for your gear box model. Personally,at my level of expertise.... considering the risks in not locking out the selector properly, i would take the car to a VW indie specialist, get it wrong and its gearbox out job........

The golf mk7 forums have more info.

Looking into the possibilities I'm wondering maybe coil pack issue, might be worth my while buying one and trying it in each

If issue occurred exactly along side gear oil leak, then why do you think an ignition problem now?

i would get oil looked at regardless, they hold very little oil considering the work they do, is yours a DSG / totally different process for refilling
