New Speed limiter

Featured Replies

does anyone know when the new Intelligence speed limiter is fitted  they should be law by July but are vehicles already fitted with them?

the previous speed limiters were called variable and could be set by the driver, the new ones are set by the GPS system and camera.

I am looking at buying a new Kamiq but it depends on the speed limiter.

The new Intelligent Speed Assist (ISA) technology could be on new cars manufactured from July 6, 2022 in a driving law change. It comes after the European Commission reached an agreement to have the technology in all cars sold in Europe

Is it not All New Cars Launched from July 2022?

As in New Type Approved models / vehicles.   Those already Type Approved would need to have them by 2024 if those are still in Production.

Maybe i have read that wrong in the stuff i have read.

You can only avoid the future for so long by buying cars now and planning to keep them.

You can only go as fast as the traffic in front and around you & if you need to overtake then nothing will be stopping you doing that safely other than how quick your car is..

'Any new platform'.

Any New Platforms or Vehicles Skoda are going to launch in the next year or so will be Type Approved already.

Someone in Motoring Journals or Motoring Organisations like the RAC / AA will put things in plain English soon maybe.

Maybe even the DfT / DVSA / DVLA, Transport Minister or a Civil Servant.

Mericans will not be helping UK drivers / car owners to understand UK laws or legislation.

Maybe this is more of a help.

A TESLA Recall in the USA because some cars have not been coming to a STOP at STOP Signs.

The more safety tech in new cars and the introduction of Full Self Driving the more the Driver needs to be switched on and taking control.

I just asked my dealer this week what if any speed limit system would be fitted to the Kamiq I have on order.
Answer was that it is just the warning and that it can be turned off at each start up same as lane assist.

Someone will be searching for a coding/adaptation hack to make it default to off!

And they'll find it, I feel sure. 😁
