2017 Superb SE L Executive with sound generator?

Featured Replies

Hi,

On checking my car's build spec for the existing suspension rating, I've found on one line it references this:

157 GM1 VWGROUP ASM Standard electronic engine sound

Does this mean my car has sound generated by the speakers?  I long ago noticed it did make a droning noise that would come and go at circa 80 on the speedo depending on engine light load and just assumed it was to do with exhaust gasflow etc at the given engine speed.  Is this actually the speakers making this noise?  Can I turn it off?  Why does the non-sporty superb have electronic engine sound???

Thanks,

Is this like a QI of "Nobody Knows"?  😄

as far as i know, the Superb does not come with the Soundakator device - in any model!

so i don't understand why ur shows "Standard electronic engine sound" in ur build spec.

wat year and model is ur Superb?  do u have iV?  if so, then that would make sense.

It is a 2017 2.0 TDI 150 ps SE L Executive.

My Octavia vRS has a sound generator and that gets: GM3 VWGROUP ASM Electronic engine sound (type 2)

It's easy to check for a sound generator if you have vcds or similar.

My 280 came with the manual version of this you have to activate it yourself via VCDS. To be honest it doesnt sound bad after activation even get the odd pop and bang... I've recorded a video so you can decide if you want it or not
