Folding stats on your desktop

Featured Replies

I've written a Yahoo! widget, which shows the detailed stats that are available from Extreme Overclockers in a floating box on the desktop. It's currently in beta form so if you fancy a go you can download it from here

You will also need the Yahoo! Widget Engine, which can be downloaded, along with loads of other widgets from here

I only really wrote it for my own personal satisfaction but thought that a few others may be interested.

Enjoy

Doesn't work.

Doesn't work.

Doh! In what way?

Don't want to seem ignorant:(

I've installed the yahoo widget, but it doesn't seem to want to accept the .XML file that I've downloaded from the other site. Am I doing something wrong?

Cheers

Ben

Same here - as i said - doesn't work. May be the upload.

Post the original here - see if it works...

You need to download and install the widget engine from www.yahoowidgets.com

then download my widget from here after downloading, double-click [email protected]et and it should run...the first thing it will do is prompt you for your UserID which you will have to get from the Extreme Overclockers stats page.

Thanks for your persistence guys.

I got this error message.

The XML page cannot be displayed

Cannot view XML input using style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.

I renamed the file to have a .widget extension and it launches and asks for the username and if you want to display team stats. Then I get the error messgae. FAH@homexml was unable to load itself successfully.

Tried all ways and still i can't get it to work.....

Giving up now. Sick. ;)

It's not the username you need it's your UserID, as explained, from the Extreme Overclockers website. Sorry it's confusing but the stats can only be pulled from EOC with the UserID.

It seems that the file extension is causing some problems, it should be .widget - I've zipped it now so it'll need unzipping before it can be used. Try this download link

Works now ;)

Time for a FF plugin instead me thinks :)

Better idea again tbh :D

What after all that time I spent slaving over a hot keyboard ;)

Besides there isn't half as much scope for innuendo! As in, 'I'm just fiddling with my widget' ... I suppose 'I'm just fiddling with my plug-in' could work :D
