I have... and on the derestricted sections it can be terrifying seeing Transit vans flying passed you when you're doing a steady 100 mph. And when pulling out to overtake you need excellent eyesight to avoid having a Porsche or similar up your back end!

Never driven on the autobahn but have been driven! Myself and two colleagues were visiting a supplier and were picked up at the airport by a private hire driver in an Audi A8. I thought we seemed to be going a bit quick! Myself and colleague, both sitting in the back, looked at each other then at the speedo which was showing 250kph! Our colleague in the front looked a bit white in the face...

I’ve enjoyed the Autobhan a few times. On 4 wheels and 2.

 

4 wheel speedo max was 200kph (previous Kodiaq). 2 wheel GPS max was 216kph (current bike).

 

As above, there’s always someone much faster than you. And you better be looking far, far ahead and also in your mirrors.

 

It can get scary. And hard work on 2 wheels.

 

Any (fool) can drive fast in a straight line, but there’s more fun to be had on other roads.

Sooo. just got back from a trip to Deutschland with Octavia VRS Diesel... on the return journey I finally got a section of autobahn that was clear and hit 260kph (161mph)  pretty impressed as that is beyond the 'book' figure!

 

But probably not your true speed? You can use a speed app on your phone, held by a passenger, to record a true accurate speed. 
Mine is 74 at a true 70mph?

Oh you misery.  Of course everyone knows that but a photo of the speedo is perfect for bragging rights. 😊

I wouldn’t want to vmax a Karoq, it feels spongy and wobbly at UK Motorway speeds!

I once pushed mine - in ideal weather and road conditions - for a short time to 190 km/h. Felt nice and stable.

It's not obvious which model you have but that's not the case for our 190 TDI which is happy way over 70 mph. 

My 1.0 DSG SE is also very steady at 70mph & even at 90mph

It’s an SEL 1.5 and it is of course perfectly adequate at motorway speeds with your family in it, but you have to appreciate that I’ve previously had nearly 20 years

of low slung coupes and fast estates with sports suspension   Apples and oranges.

I drove on the autobahn and the autostrada in the 1970s in a signal orange 1.3L Ford Escort estate. Did I manage 90mph?

 

The hairiest thing on the autostrada was seeing lorry drivers cooking on their camping stoves in the cab as they were driving along.
