Very annoying, but thanks for the tip!

Lost a bank passbook and my damn passport a few months back. Ripped the house apart, ripped the car a part or so I thought. I knew that if I found the passbook I’d find my passport, but to no avail. Ended up cancelling my passport as reported lost 3 weeks ago as I need it for a holiday later this year.

Found it today inside the dashboard of my Octavia. When closing the glovebox the passport and bank book had tipped out and landed behind the glovebox inside the dashboard.

So if you are missing anything, selling or buy an Octavia check behind the glovebox, you never know what you might find. ****ed off is an understantment.

What made you remove the glove box, or were you doing something else?

When I got in to the car I saw the corner of the packaging around an air freshener hanging below the glovebox, but it would not pull out. I was in a slot about 3cm wide and the corner had dropped trough. The gap being narrow would not allow me to pull the air freshener through so resorted to dropping the glovebox out and thus finding my lost items.

Isn't it odd how something can get behind there; there's hardly any space with the fuses and pollen filter etc.

well done for spotting it though mate.

Not a fault with the car as such, just the fates 'aving a giraffe' wiv you,

Something like that happened to me with my specs, I knew I put them down, but couldn't find them, hard as you like, this was during the 'Panic' demic lockdown, so a new appointment and eye test was dubble trubble maxi bovver!

Looking for a map, I  found the B'stard things ,in plain sight ,in the drawer I had put them 3 months previous!

When the omnipotent one wants to balls you about'She' sure knows how....

Prior to my Octavia I had a Peugeot 407 that had one of those push in to open ash trays (like the fuel flap on the Octy) and a small Nokia phone. One day while at work I thought the phone would be a perfect fit for the ashtray and popped it in and closed the tray, low and behold no matter how I pushed it the ash tray would not open.

Cue a very annoyed and embarrassed me, had to wait until I got home to get the torx screwdrivers to remove first the radio then the climate control panel to retrieve my phone.

Never made that mistake again 😃
