It would be very useful to have the car's build codes. This will allow you to use the Skoda parts catalogue on 7zap to find the OEM part numbers for the parts that were originally fitted.

You can get the car's build codes by going on the "skoda erwin" website. They do charge about 7 Euros for one hour's access, but that should be enough time to obtain all the build codes.

Another way is to use an Italian seller on ebay who can send you your build codes for about 3 Euros. Google "skoda VIN decoder" on ebay to find the listing. He has 100% positive feedback.

Load of standard parts replacements on eBay. Cost for springs and shocks is quite reasonable. Please do the bump stops and dust covers too. The top mounts and top bearings could also do with a change if not replaced.

The build codes are on a sticker in the front of the service book & on a copy of that sticker under the boot carpet.

You don't have to buy standard shocks and springs from the dealer, pattern stuff will be just fine and a lot cheaper, try a set of Lemforder springs with Bilstein B4 shocks all round. You can buy them off ebay, from your local factors or even mail order from Autodoc.

That's only a few of them Lee, often missing handy ones like the front brake PR code. The full car data runs to a few pdf pages of codes, with brief definitions of each; much more comprehensive.

A helpful dealership parts counter person may provide the car data pdf FOC if you ask nicely.

^ Ah, OK 👍

I used that eBay seller that @Carlston mentioned and for £2.86 I had the full PR code list (5 pages) it included some that wasn't listed on the build spec sheets I got from my local stealership

If you look at the example VIN code PDF that the Ebay seller gives (in multiple languages) you will see that it doesn't show suspension or shock absorber codes, unless your vision is better than mine and I missed them.

Also codes to tell you that something is not fitted are not helpfull, take up space and distract the eye.

Pretty sure they'll all be there. At least two on page 1 for instance  G01& L18.

Press the + button, middle of header, to zoom in for easier reading.
