You are welcome :)

I do like the look of the 9.2" screen.

@pab567 you are the man! Everything works like magic. Just needed to cut those little plastic molds from the 4-pin cable. It really is plug&play. And I thought I had to spend 900 bucks in a control unit, do some coding and component protection crap. They'll ake my life, but not my bigger display!

Hi! II know there's a million posts about this but for the love of god I haven't been able to find out if its really possible to upgrade from the small display (1st pic) to the 8" display with buttons (2nd pic) without having to buy a new control unit (the one in the glovebox).

I also attach my system info page  (3rd pic). Any help would me really appreciated!! I have already received the 8"inch screen but when I plug it, nothing happens. Do I need to perform a SW/FW update or am I definitely screwed?

Hi @FernandoCamino can you please post a pic of your glovebox unit. Also did smartlink work before you upgraded your display or is it a function which got activated after you installed the 3V0919606. I’m trying to do the same upgrade that you did (changing the display but not the glovebox unit.) Thanks.

Those screens are for mib1 units. You won't be able to swap them out without changing the main unit in the glovebox. Mib1 is also not compatible with smart link and just changing the screen will most definitely not activate that function.

HI! So I literally just swapped the screen and it worked like a charm. I already had smart link, Android Auto, Carplay etc. working in the old screen, so I assume I don't have the very basic/oldest glovebox unit?

The only thing I needed to do is cut out a plastic tab from the cable that goes into the hole I'm showing in the image below.

Hope it helps!

@FernandoCamino if possible can you please post a pic of your system information. I need the device part number of your main unit.

This is because you have the MIB2 system already.  They are cross compatible between the MIB2 screens.  The MIB1 screens are dedicated to their individual unit type.  So MIB1 amundsen screen will not work with MIB1 columbus.  One confusing exception is the MIB1 columbus screen will work with MIB2 units.

Hi! There are a couple of pics with their back label, apart form that I don't know any more details like names and stuff. I think that by googling the art number (big number on top of the label) you'll get all the details.

@pab567 can you please help me with the part number of the glove box unit for the display 3V0919606.

5Q0035864x, 5Q0035874x, 565035864, 565035874, 3V0035020x, 3V0035021x, 3V0035043x, 3V0035044x where x is any letter (A, B, C etc.)

Just pls note 3V0919606 is for Superb, not for Octavia

Yes, get a dongle like AAWireless or a Motorola MA1 dongle.

It allows ur phone to work wirelessly with ur headunit.

The dongle remains plugged to ur USB port. Ur phone then simply connects to it wirelessly each time u drive.

I've been using AAWireless for almost 2 yrs now and it's been great, convenient and issue free.
