Featured Replies

Am I right in thinking we have somebody onboard who can fit the above? If so who is it and any idea of cost please?

I will need to squirrel the money away before the 'War Dept' goes totally nuts !!! :scared:

Take a look at www.fabia-vrs.com

Aye, Stuey will sort you out

Someone mention my name?? ;)

Drop me a PM mate if you want some help.

PM received ;)

VRStu fitted cruise control on my Fabia VRS yesterday. Excellent job, just like a factory fit :).

You'll be able to retire soon ;)

I wish!!

It was handy that I keep the parts 'in stock' as it were so I could get it done the following day.

OMG just read the instructions stu , scarey , i was thinking of D.I.Y. on mine but i think i'll give it a miss :( and i'm a mechanic, but i don't do a lot of electrical work , its a pity your so far south as i'd get you todo it, BTW whats the all inclusive price to have it fitted by your good self

It's okay if you take your time and have the right tools. There is an abundance of support back here as well.

Is your car a facelifted model?

no its a march 04 so will require thar extra bit of wire thats mentioned in your how to guide i think

So you have the older style rear lights and don't have one touch indicators?

Glad you are happy with it.

Sure am.

By the way, my annoying creaking clutch pedal is fixed, as you said it possibly would be . Must have been the way the lower dash panel was fitted at the factory.

Even better then eh. :P

Meant to ask you about that.

old style rear lights yes but i do have the one touch indicators also  caused much confusion on the motorway after i picked the car up ,as i didn't know it was one touch

Sounds like you could be right on the overlap then.

I would possibly checkout the later cars method and if not then just revert back to the old faithful.

I bought one of the kits off Ebay from Stu, and with a bit of advice here and there (thanks!) fitted it in about 4-5 hours. Stu advised me which VAG-COM cable to buy, I enabled it on Saturday morning and hey presto cruise control for a total of about £70. I am now going to code some new keys using VAG-COM so this has paid for itself as well!

If you want to do it, go for it!

Blimey been away for a while and stu is nicking all my trade

Not all of it ;)

Anyone retro-fit cruise control in Staffordshire or Leicestershire? If so, how much would it cost?
