DQ250 and axle ratios

Featured Replies

I thought I'd ask the question and learn.

On the 206 4x4

1) Why is gear 3 & 4 stacked so close?

2) Why does it show 2 axle ratios?

If its front and rear how do they have the same wheel speed?

     Haldex intermediate gear?

Likely a misprint.

Front and rear differentials have different ratios.

The wheel speed should be the same as there will be an extra set of gears where the prop shaft attaches. The haldex doesn't have any gearing up/down, it's just a hydraulically controlled clutch to adjust the amount of torque to the rear wheels.

Image below from an old Golf SSP showing the prop shaft is not 1:1 with the front axle. The ratio may have changed on the Superb but I expect it's a similar layout:

There is only one rear axle ratio and one identical transfer box (angle drive) ratio, that way the same components can be used across the whole family of VAG vehicles regardless of what the FWD diff ratio is.

hello, what about the front differential oil on superb 2016?

is this part of dq250 dsg gearbox using atf oil or can front diff oil be changed separately?

thanks

No, it’s a specific oil for the DSG box which is not actually an automatic at all, but a manual unit with two gearboxes and an automatic double clutch system.
This gives you the full description.

thanks.

i'm curious how the front diff oil can be changed
