My 2004 Fabia (1.2 Petrol AWY) reports: 16500 engine coolant temp sensor (G62) implausible.

 

The shown temperature does seem wrong on occasions. After I last bought fuel with a hot engine, the temperature gauge stayed at the very low end of the range for maybe 5 miles of dual carriage way, and slowly returned to normal just as I thought I should stop and see if I still had any coolant. Most of the time it does not seem egregiously off, but I only drive short distances (about 3 miles).

 

Other than this, everything works fine. Should I worry?

Easy to pop a new sensor in. Only buy a genuine one though.
