Hi, I’m just curious about a “smoke map” on my pd130 Skoda fabia vrs.
im wanting to get a little more smoke on my tune as it’s quite a clean map at the moment, I’ve heard it can increase power slightly and increase turbo spool, as well as blacking out everyone that tries to race you ;) just wondering what could happen if I do it and if/what damage could be caused?

specs are:
Pd150/ gt1749 turbo

standard injectors

2.25inch straight through

mapped to 185bhp

That's what being on Facebook does. Full of absolute nonsense.

Why?

Can't posts like this just be shut down. People come on here to ask genuine questions, but sometimes, as the saying goes on Lizard Lick Towing  "You just can't educate stupid".

Scroll past instead of posting, and they soon die...

Should be put off road until proof of fix.

I think threads/posts like this are useful to know what is out there.  I honestly thought the smoke tune/map was just a joke, I'm so old and naïve.  It's an extreme extension of other fashionable "modifications" often seen on clapped out cars to the detriment of the vehicle, its driver, passengers and for all around.

But the number plate is cleverly hidden.  😁

I wonder - is the OP actually a Russian tank commander about to be deployed in Ukraine?🤣

What the OP probably needs is a changeable map so can have a smoky one for fun/trackdays then standard or non-smokey one for MOTs and normal driving, etc

Would that be cheating?........not that VW (VAG) has ever done that!

Glenamaddy was a bit of a mecca for the agri spec VW/PSA group in the past when myself and Mrs.Vanhire first dated as well

The most of them were running their cars on "Green Biddy" just to add to the smoke !

Sheer coincidence, this afternoon I saw what looked like a VW Polo or Golf (difficult to tell) just in front of a big black cloud of smoke, previously the other two I've noticed have been Audi and I assumed they lacked servicing and use, perhaps I was wrong and the owners had idiotic beliefs in this area, obviously not also cyclist or pedestrians.

Yes, there is an axiom in old-school diesel tuning, it says "no smoke, no poke", the reason for this is that pre unit injection (PD) and common rail injection atomisation was very poor due to low injection pressures so more fuel than needed had to be injected.

This is no longer the case, however in common with other tuning mythology the axiom persists in the realms of mouthbreather owners who don't believe they're getting maximum powah unless the car smokes like a chimney.

There is no fix for stupidity.
