3t1 part number would be for a LHD car, no?

Usually yes

The cars made up to 27.09.2009 only had 3T1 looms

After this date then you have exactly as you say 3T1 LHD 3T2 RHD.

The image above was because that's the closest we have to you loom label you pictured.

Hopefully tomorrow I can get details from VIN search as to what was fitted from factory (we can perhaps assume the label is incorrect at this point)

Interesting. You'd imagine that pre 09.2009 loom parts would be more abundant and lower cost? And I guess that's why I seem to be able to buy one from Slovakia. It's still €179 though!

Do you still have the old plug cut from the loom to fit the repair section?

I do, but I've already tried the repair. So it's a bunch of awkward connectors, made at different legths, all crammed into the door jamb boot. It's horrible, but I definitely put all of the right wires in the right plug pins. I even made a diagram and tick list, then triple checked. It is probably my most shameful repair attempt and I'm highly unsatisfied with the result. 😔

Might be just worth checking that none of the pins at the a-pillar/ door connection got bent while removing and replacing the plugs, and that the new plug is fully seated after doing so.  Not unheard of for weird problems to be just down to a plug that's not fully 'home'.

If you can be without use of the car for a few days I'd be happy to try to rework your original loom bits if you were to pull it all out and post to me.  Don't suppose you're anywhere near Oxfordshire? PM if interested.

Here is your VIN decoded (handy to know what was fitted)

And turns out my guesstimate was correct on the part number

Either order up this part, or maybe send the loom over to @Breezy_Pete to see if he can fix your old one?
