Where are the tracking and alignment adjustment points?

Featured Replies

Besides the obvious track rod ends, where are all of the adjustment points for wheel alignment on the Octavia II?

Had the alignment checked but the techs claimed they couldn't get any of it undone to adjust. They were suggesting replacing most of the parts involved at great cost. I declined.

So I want to inspect myself, soak bolts in WD40 and free them up (if possible), and replace things if necessary before taking it to a different garage with less defeatist techs for an alignment!

There is no caster adjustment on the PQ35 platform other than a small amount of movement in the rear consul mount and the camber is fixed apart from again some slight play in the ball joint mounting. You can add caster adjustment with Powerflex rear consul bushes and camber adjustment with their front wishbone bushes.

I imagine he is talking about the adjuster bolts on the lower rear wishbones at the subframe end, I had to cut mine off and replace the wishbones. The bolt seizes solid inside the bush.

Needless to say it has been re-assembled with copious amounts of copper grease!
