Can I please ask if anyone knows someone who can do a proper wheel alignment? in and around Bristol.
I recently changed the tyres and been to a shop who did the alignment; after which I felt the responses from bumps too sharp.
Took it to another shop and the front toe was way off. The second shop fixed it, but then the steering wheel is not flat or level when going straight.
And both shops told me that they cannot do the rear. I own 2014 Octavia L&K 2.0 TDI CR 150 PS, which I believe has a multi-link suspension in the rear on which you can align the tyres.

@saneso - Your location shows as "Wales". Try for people with a Hunter rig and a reputation in South Wales, Avon or Gloucestershire.

Thank you. Was looking at the bottom of the car, and the rear is a torsion beam. I was wrong on that. Have contacted the second shop now, and have booked me in this week.
Let me see if they do it fine this time, or I may have to check around.

It’s the reviews I pay attention to. Any machine (Hunter or other) is only as good as the bloke that’s using it!

If you're willing to travel a bit, I can thoroughly recommend Imperial Tyres in Swindon and Chris Mullins Tyres in Gloucester, both very good used both over the past few years...Imperial a little more expensive for hunter alignment but very thorough; and as they offer road force balancing, they were the only place to show me a very buckled wheel on my Cupra after about 4 other tyre places simply had a go at balancing it and either not noticed nor told me it was buckled, but happily charged me for not making it any better!

Thank you. I am willing to travel if they are doing a good job. I have an appointment tomorrow at the same place here. Let me see if they sort this out, or I will plan to travel to Gloucester / Swindon. Gloucester would be near. 3 visits in a month for an alignment is where I am now.

@Saneso Just out of interest are the new tyres like for like, Speed / Load rating and XL or not XL, and once fitted did you set the tyre pressures to your usual pressure you use?

You’re welcome buddy.

Let us know how you get on, hopefully sorted without having to travel!

Cheers,

Nick

Using Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6.
The tyre pressure was on the recommended figures. Double checked to make sure, after the first tracking; since it almost felt like the tyre pressure was too high, but it was the toe.

Thanks Nick.
I went back to the second shop today and looks fine now.
Have to say that I haven't yet got a chance to drive for some time to confirm it, but looked okay in a 5 min drive.
