The missing link ...

Featured Replies

Good afternoon Boyz,

in the FAQ, there is an excellent article on improving the suspension setup, but there are supposed to be two links in there that explain about understeer & oversteer, which I'd be interested to read. As the links seem to have been removed, does anyone have a copy of the two articles concerned that they'd be willing to email to me?

Pretty please?

I took my new Octy vRS down to near Hereford for the weekend, and I have to say that it's even better than I had hoped. I was expecting the car to be more compromised toward it's 'sporty' side, but it's remarkably comfortable, while still being devastatingly quick (it's overtaking abilities are awesome ...) and good fun.

I think the only minor complaint would be the amount of road noise generated on concrete road surfaces, but I can happily live with that.Oh, and the fact that it doesn't actually feel that fast, thanks to the total lack of fuss that it makes even when pushed (I still have painful memories of driving a Montego Turbo ... ). Even SWMBO was happy as I blasted along on the B-roads, thanks to not being hurled around like she was in our last motor.

I'd recommend a vRS to anyone looking for a rapid, fun but still 'practical' car, without any hesitation. Best car I've ever driven.

Chris

Am I to assume that I just asked a divvy question ...? :stupid:

Hi,

I think Geoff is referring to the infamous slippery slope whereby you get the car - think it's great and then start modding it to make it quicker !

(By the way - I shouldn't bother with Jon's latest idea of a mod)

Jane

Hmm, a 'Skoda Golf'. Interesting juxtaposition between VAG products. NOT. :D :D

Too late Geoff, I fear I may have already set foot onto the slope, and I can feel my grip loosening by the second ...

four-pot callipers perhaps ... maybe a more 'musical' exhaust ... a visit to Jabba for the day?

NO!! STOP!! Get thee from behind me Satan!

:drive:

HKP,

are the tyres still Dunlops? I found these noisey. Running Pirelli PZero Rossos now and these are much quieter.

Enjoy.

Cheers.

Adrian.

p.s once you decided to jump on the slippery slope, PM me and will see if we can get another Jabba remap group buy going.......10% discount.

p.p.s anyone know who's getting remapped today...Octy RS. I'll have a search of my records.

Yup could be up for a group re-map! :D

Si,

will probably try and arrange something in the New Year....not enough time (before Christmas) to get the required number of people together.

Would be nice to have a group remap for Jabba for their new premises.

Cheers.

Adrian.

The original author is Jon (TaviaRS), so it might be worth giving him a PM.

Thanks Quinten. I'll get around to that in the morning, too much work to do at the mo'.

I have the two images in question if you still need them.
