Featured Replies

Hi All.

I'm Just In The Process Of Buying Tuning My Fabia 100 Pd And Am Wanting To Know What The Best Performance Software There Is.i'm Looking To Spend About

One word - "Jabbasport" ;)

....and some more "welcome to the site!"

:drive: THANKS FOR THE WELCOME.

WHAT OTHER SOFTWARE IS THERE OR IS THERE JUST "JABBA SPORT".

WHAT WILL IT COST AND WHAT ARE THE POWER GAINS.

There are loads of Diesel tuning options. Jabbasport is one of the best value for money.

You get a "live" remap tailored to your individual car. This is done on a rolling road and costs about

hello leigh

im sure there are more options tha just "jabba"around,im sure if you keep asking around someone will give you some other options, why do you want to change your exhaust, tail trim or power?

as for induction kits personally i would give it a miss.

stick with a air box filter(non oiled if poss)

Would certainly reccomend Jabba after all the reports. Should give you a report on mine after the weekend. Though mine is a vRS, Jason will be having his 100PD done too!

I am also thinking of getting the exhaust changed and a filter. Have heard poor stories from air induction on diesels though. From what I've heard from other forums, it knackers the MAF sensor, so would be better just getting a high flow panel filter such as K&N or Green.

btw. Welcome to Briskoda

The Advice On Not Using An Induction Kit Will Be Really Useful.the Revo Programs I've Heard About Sound Good And I've Heard You Get Around 150 Bhp And 250 Torque From It Which Is Considerebly More Than 30-35% More Bhp And Torque From The Jabbasport Kit.any More Advice Would Be Very Helpfull.

Cheers

Hi Leigh

There's always the "Tuning Box" if you want a lot of bang for your buck... Van Aiken (or whatever they're called) are meant to be good, and the original Tuning Box is meant to be ok too...

They're cheap, but they're not as good as a proper upgrade to the software.

Most of them seem to give a massive hike in torque at low down revs, but this seems to tail off quite quickly (where as you'd rather have consistantly high torque throughout the rev range)...

There's even the uber cheap resistor mod (basically fooling the ECU into thinking the fuel is (iirc) hotter than it really is, so it pumps more in! Proper ghetto mod, but it seems to work suprisingly well.

Then, dare I mention it, there are the ODBII Serial Programming mods such as REVO or APR.

These have the benefit of not needing to open your ecu up (or even your bonnet!!) and they do everything you'd expect from a traditional chip.

Then there's the traditional chip (which is what most people on here seem to have gone for)... Opening up your ECU, soldering a chip inside, then altering the map of the chip (athough not all places do this)... Most just solder a generic chip in place.

Anyway, I hope this has given you some more options.

Oh, and I'd stick with a cotton gause replacement panel filter too!

Apart from smelling a very big rat on this thread, :D you have to bear in mind that (diesel tuners epecially) quote large % increases in power, as they use the Manufacturers stated power figure as a base. The actual original power output is nearly always more on TDis.

If you did this with my car and the Jabba remap, yes it would be 45%-50% extra.

This is very true. Quoted power for the vRS is 130 brake and mine came out with 145 with only 1800 miles on the clock, so still tight! :D

Wowsers!!

145 standard!

I want a VRS more and more each day!! Roll on April (bonus time!)

Thats without the Millers Diesel Power Plus or the little airbox mod that it's also running now! This thing pulls like a train now. Roll on saturday when I get to Jabbasport! :D

Air box mod?

Air box mod?

Just a little trick that I picked up from your good self! Wipped it out on Saturday and got blown away with the difference!

:D

Hi, LEIGH 100. How long have you owned your Fabia?

air box mod? please divulge all?

I'm considering shelling out

From what i gather, if you feel in the grill air intake there is a plastic flap which will slow the air down from entering the air filter. You can either remove that part of the air intake or remove it and hacksaw off the flap, then replace.

If that is what they are on about you can feel the difference, if not there is another mod you can do!

Just doing that and getting a k&N or green filter is more than enough, although you have to wait for the filter to be made and then brought to england which is about a month as they do not sell well enough for permanent supplies to be stocked

OK - who's coming to Derby and fancies joining in a group hacksaw'ing of my car's intake. I was going to use the air intake pipe insulation too, but this sounds a lot cheaper to me.

Love to but i start nights friday, just remember the Torx scredriver to take it apart with!

:( - I don't have one of those special screwdrivers...

Well - If I start to feel wealthy (July 2009 the way its going) I'm going to buy that insulation piping for the air intake pipe.

Matt? You're going aren't you...? I may need your assistance! :D

air box mod? please divulge all?

I did something very similar on my old Astra, it works like a dream.

A hell of a lot better than a

As derby is only 140 miles away, i might try to make it and go straight from there to work and bring my torx bits and ratchet along!
